After her stop at the coffee shop, Seri went to her booked hostel. People in her home country know how luxurious and extravagant she is, but this time she wanted to keep a low profile and started with her simple accommodation. The hostel that she booked has a modern loghouse design with a beautiful view of the green scenery and mountains. While she was at the coffee shop, she browsed more pictures to get a feel of the place she will be staying at. Besides, it's her first time staying in a hostel rather than in a hotel. The name 'SD Hotel' didn't catch her attention, but what struck her is that the hostel's owned by Korean immigrants.
She arrived a few moments later and was happy with what welcomed her eyes. It was exactly how it looks like in the photos on the internet. They have a beautiful view, the lobby feels so homey and the place itself looks well-maintained and clean.
After appreciating the entrance, she directly went to the small area to approach the receptionist. As she reached the area, the receptionist saw her and stood up. Seri was surprised that she was pregnant. "Hi! Welcome to SD Hostel. You must be Yoon Seri," the lady greeted her and extended her arms for a handshake. "Yes. How did you know that it's me?" Seri asked as she took her hands to shake. "Oh we're only expecting 2 guests and both of you are Koreans. It's not a vacation season so we're really not expecting the place to get crowded," the receptionist explained. Seri just nodded and smiled at her. "Oh, how rude of me not to introduce myself. I'm Seo Dan, but you can call me Dan or Dani. Hmm, let me just call my husband." she looked at Seri's luggage and left Seri for a while.
Seo Dan came back with her husband beside her, "Seri, sorry to keep you waiting. This is my husband. He'll be helping you with your things to bring them up to your room." The guy extended his arms and introduced himself, "Hello, Seri! I'm Seung Jun. Welcome to SD Hostel." Seri shook his hand and bowed to thank him, "Hi! It's nice to meet you. You and your wife look good together." The married couple bowed, "Kamsahamnida!"
Seung Jun helped Seri with her things to carry them up to her room. While they were on their way, Seri asked, "I'm just curious, what does SD mean in 'SD Hotel?" Seung Jun chuckled at her question, "It may sound stupid but it's my name and Dani's name- S for Seung Jun and D for Dan. Sounds dull, right?" They both laughed while they were climbing up the stairs to the second floor.
As soon as they reached Seri's room, Seung Jun extended both of his arms to the sides and welcomed her to her room. "And we're here. This will be your room. If you need anything, just press 1 and it will be directed to the telephone lobby," Seri nodded and thanked him. But as Seung Jun was about to reach the door, Seri stopped him. "By the way, Dani said that there's one more guest aside from me?" She asked.
"Ah yes, my friend checked in earlier as well. He just went out to stroll around. Hey, join us for dinner later. It will just be the four of us so you can meet my friend as well. We're the only people who will be staying here so I think we should all meet each other. What do you say?" Seung Jun raised her eyebrows and smiled as he waited for her answer. "Sure. That sounds good to me."
As Seri was unpacking her things, she felt a bit tired and wanted to drink water. She was about to grab the phone to call the lobby but she thought, "There's only Dan and Seung Jun working and Dani's pregnant. I don't want to tire them up." With that, Seri decided to go down to the lobby instead to ask where she could get water.
She reached the lobby and saw Dani sitting in her area, "Hi Dani! Do you know where I could get a bottle of water?" Seri asked. Dani pointed to the door from their left, "Oh the kitchen's right over there. You could just call us so we can bring it up to you." Seri shook her head, "No, it's okay. It's really okay."
Seri was walking towards the kitchen when he noticed Seung Jun entering the hostel with a man beside him. Seung Jun saw her too so he approached and called her, "Seri, I'm glad you're here. He's the other guest we're telling you about. He's my friend who's also from Korea."
The man and Seri looked at each other in their eyes. There was a moment of silence until Seri broke it, "Hi! I'm Yoon Seri. You can call me Seri." Seri showed her hands inviting him for a handshake. The man gladly took it with both of his hands and introduced himself, "I'm Jeong Hyeok. Ri Jeong Hyeok."
