My gaze wandered between the two as the door slammed shut behind Jeff. The man with the twisted smile stood from the seat he had occupied only seconds ago. He had bared similarities to Jeff though looked much more mature, elegant, and he was missing the stitched up smile. Although I think the natural smirk he had been sporting was enough.
''Please sit down , me and Jeffrey are pleased to finally have you visit our humble party.'' My only response , while he held out his hand, was to look back at Jeff nervously only to see him looking away as if it solve the problem here. I silently nodded turning his hand away and sat on the chair across from the mans own chair. His smirked turned into a smile as I noticed his face seemed to deform before my eyes like special effects. I watched as he patted Jeff's shoulder only to see Jeff push his hand away before he proceeded back to his chair. He slowly tapped his fingers on the desk before him. He gave a few seconds before he held out his hand towards my , from the corner of my eye I could see Jeff move uneasily reaching to his pocket.
''No need for that Jeffrey , I'm only introducing myself.'' He smirked in Jeff's direction before suddenly focusing his jet black eyes back onto me.
''My name is Absulum.'' I focused on his hand slowly reaching my hand out hesitating and regretting to myself as he took up my hand and placed his lips upon them as if to be gentlemen like. I found myself speechless and dumbfounded.
''I'm-
''Dimitri. I've been told much about you.'' I narrowed my eyes slightly pulling my hand back down to my lap.
Questions started racing my mind as I all to much began to panic. Was I in a dream? Was this real? If this is real, how do I get out of here? SO not to be noticeable I pretended to look back at Jeff so I could examine the door. Only now the door that was there had not existed , there were not any vents or others way in. The room was inescapable.
''There is a way out but in time I shall show you it dear. We have a few things to discuss.'' Absulum spoke gently but emphasized the ''s'' to sound like a snake. Somehow he must have read my mind. I felt the urge to scream or maybe even cry because I couldn't make sense of it but I needed to keep my self calm. If this so called ''Absulum'' could read my mind I needed to not sound predictable. I took a slow deep breath.
''First , '' I slowly seen Absulum's expression change in a little fraction of shock maybe? I suddenly felt confident.
''I want to know some things.'' I said firmly.
''You have things to answer to Jeff.'' My eyes moved over to him , who was now crossing his arms and looking up.
''Ask away. We may or may not have the answers but I always give my best.'' Absulum chuckled looking intrigued.
''If you are a demon as you say you are, why are you down on earth and not haunting an excavation or something of the sorts?'' I think I may have nailed that question.
''I have business with our little friend Jeffrey here. It's a deal , a sort of contract. He has been a very bad person he needs to learn his lesson.'' His answer was cold at the end sending chills up my back.
''Is it that true Jeff...'' I stared at him as he nodded a solid yes and turned away.
''Say it aloud so she can hear it.''
''I said yes!'' Jeff growled back at Absulum who seemed content he was getting his way. Though I have to admit I had never seen Jeff seem so aggressive before.
''What is the contract for?''
''I wish I could enlighten you of the details , but there is rules on that so I cannot tell.''
