~One Month Later~

I arrive at the main entrance of Springfield High, and set my bag on the ground. I look around the large expanse of still-melting snow, trying to find Cameron. I know it's still early for him, but I was excited to see him. Not that this day is important...I'm just always glad to see him. Don't know exactly why...it doesn't really matter.

I sit down on one of the steps, grabbing my headphones from my jeans pocket, and plugging the jack into my phone. I put the earbuds into my ears, blasting some Crown The Empire. I lay back some, getting comfortable as I close my eyes.

I'm listening to my music for a while, and I'm in the middle of my favorite song, Johnny's Rebellion, when I feel a strong pat on my shoulder. I jump, quickly tearing an earbud out of my ear, looking up to find Cameron.

He gives that goofy grin, and looks down at me "Hey, bud! Why are you here so early, again?? You're an hour early!" he exclaims, looking confused.

I look a little embarrassed as I stand up, picking my bag up slowly.

"I-I like to get here early...gives me time to myself..." I say, looking up at Cameron. Once again, his hair is covering up his right eye. I'm extremely tempted to move the hair away, so I could see his other eye. I decide not to...it would be too weird.

He smiles some, and sits down on the stairs, right next to where I was.

"Well, I don't mean to interrupt you! Wanna sit down with me?" He asks, stretching his arms some. I nod slowly, and soon sit down with him, starting to relax once again. He sees the one earbud still in my ear, and chuckles.

"What music do you listen to, Luke?". This stops me right in my tracks. Did I want to tell him? Didn't know if it would be his style. Nonetheless, I slowly pass him an earbud.

"T-Take a listen for yourself..." I say nervously, a small stutter heard as I pass him the ear bud. He puts it in his ear, and lays back. I soon lay back with him, and we lay there for a second.

"Uh...you gonna start to music, smarts?" he says jokingly. It clicks in my head, and I quickly fumble with my phone, and press the play button. His cheeks are glowing red as he lays back down on the stairs.

We listen for a while, my eyes closed some as we listen. At one point, I feel him take his earbud out, and sit up. I open my eyes, sitting up with him.

"You okay?" I ask, looking a little concerned. He smiles some, looking down. Even sitting down, he is taller than me.

"Yeah, I'm okay! Just wanted to stretch some." he says, as he stands up, his hands stretching to the clouds. I nod a little bit, staying seated at he stretches out. He soon sits back down, and I look up at him.

"So...w-what did you think of my music? I know it's a little...d-different" I stutter out, as I wrap my headphones up. He chuckles some, patting my shoulder.

"That's my kind of music! Never been a fan of music made today." he says, shrugging his shoulder, pulling out a pack of gum, unwrapping a piece, and popping it in his mouth. He soon offers the pack to me.

"Want some? It's green apple." he says. His answer threw me off guard, and I soon snap back to reality, blushing some as I nod, taking a piece, taking the wrapper off, and popping it in my mouth.

"T-Thanks, Cameron..." I say, chewing my gum idly as I pull out my math homework. I got some of it done last night, but there were a few problems I couldn't solve for the life of me. I rub my forehead as I think. God...I don't see how we'll ever use this crap.

Cameron watches me over my shoulder, and at one point, he taps on my shoulder. I look up at him, setting my pencil down on the stair.

"Yeah?" I ask, flicking my hair to the side with my hand. He chuckles some.

"You need help with your homework? I finished that homework last night, so I could help you." He says, giving me a sincere look. He give a sigh of relief, and give him a quick nod.

"Yes please...I was up 'till three in the morning, finishing that damn paper for English." I say, looking exasperated. He looks a little concerned, looking down at me.

"Explains the bags under your eyes...you sure you're okay?" he asks, his head slightly cocked to the side. I nod some, giving off a large yawn before I answer.

"Yeah...I'm okay...today is just going to be a long day." I say, and take a look at my homework. He helps me for about fifteen minutes, and I soon shove it in my bag, it crumpling some.

"Thanks, Cameron! At least I'll get a somewhat good grade on it." I say jokingly, chuckling softly as I zip my bag up. He chuckles also, then he gets the face as if he had just remembered something.

"Hey, just remembered! I was gonna ask you something." He says, looking at me.

"What is it, Cam?" I ask, looking a little confused. What could he need to ask me? He gives me a half smile.

"Well, I'm going to have a party at my house...was wondering if you wanted to come!" he says with a sly grin.

Wait...did I really just get invited to a party?! A REAL PARTY?!? Oh my God...this is awesome! I'm finally going to do something cool! I never went to parties in middle school. Not even birthday parties...I was kind of lame back then. Still now, but at least I have Cameron as a friend.

I nod excitedly at Cameron. "I would love to go! I haven't been to a party before...when is it?"

He chuckles some. "This Saturday! It's gonna be at my house...need the address?" He smiles at me, looking as excited as I feel.

I nod some, and by the time he has written down his address, the bell has rung. I thank him, and rush off, holding the address in my hand.

This is gonna be awesome...I think.
