Hello Everyone!

I hope you've all had a great week.

My body hit the ground hard.

White-hot pain shot through my shoulder and I gritted my teeth so hard they felt like they would break if I added any more pressure. My head ached from slamming against the concrete sidewalk and the screams around me didn't help.

Hands reached for me, grabbing at my body but one, in particular, touched my shoulder and I screamed in pain. The pain, however, felt familiar and in that split second of chaos, I thanked my father for my training. I can deal with a bullet wound, a head injury on the other hand is cause for concern.

Among the chaos of shouts and frantic people, my men stayed as calm as they could. I could hear Jasper yelling but what exactly he was saying, I had no idea.

Using the arm that didn't have a bullet hole in the attached shoulder, I pushed my body into a kneeling position, panting through gritted teeth. Someone leaned down and hoisted me back to my feet, carefully minding my arm.

My body swayed to the side, conscious of being surrounded by suited backs but only one of them faced me. Elijah stared with wide eyes at me, his eyes running over my body. I brushed my hair out of my face and scowled.

My left arm hung limp next to me, the pain and energy it took to move it was undeniable so I used my other hand to put pressure on the bleeding wound.

"Love! Talk to me!" Someone ordered harshly. Harvey.

I groaned, wanting to press a hand against my head where the pain came from but couldn't because I needed to put pressure on my shoulder. "Get me the fuck out of here," I hissed through gritted teeth. I heard someone mention our SUVs were stuck at the end of the street.

Jasper twisted, one hand with his gun and the other gripped the back of Finn's neck, shoving his head towards the ground and out of the way. Jasper looked down at the ground where he thought I would be but snapped his head to mine. His eyes tracked the blood now covering my hand against the bullet wound.

"How bad?" He asked, moving to stand closer, shielding me from view. Elijah turned back, standing where Jasper had just vacated.

I leveled him with a look. "I have a bullet hole in my shoulder, how bad do you think it is?" My growl tapered off into a whimper when my arm tensed slightly. "Let's get on with it then, yeah?"

Finn, hearing my whine of pain, snapped to attention and lurched for me, wrapping a cold hand around my bicep before inspecting the wound on my shoulder. He glanced around me, his fingers brushing along my back gently.

Suddenly we were moving. Finn kept a gentle hold of my injured arm, his hand now covering my own that pressed into the wound. Jasper's free hand held my elbow as he lead me along, still encased in my human shield.

His were wide with fear when he looked me in the eye. And very blue. His lips moved but my brain lagged, disconnecting the words. I shook my head, trying to pull my concentration back but only resulted in tiny black spots in my vision. "There's no exit wound, the bullet is still lodged in your shoulder."

"Fantastic," I grumbled. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion at my sarcasm.

"Let's go!" Jasper barked, leading the group to the SUVs at the curb. My breathing turned labored the further I was forced to walk. My bare feet scraped across the concrete sidewalk. What happened to my shoes?

I stumbled and Finn tightened his hand on my bicep. Sweat beaded on my forehead and the pain in my head grew at an alarming rate, almost numbing the pain in my shoulder.
