"DID YOU MENTION to your mom about coming over here?" Zach queried, as the two friends sat on facetime, his camera directed upwards as Aoife's sat pointing at her. "She said she'll think about it, If i keep up the good work until Christmas Exams, she'll consider it for the New Year, which is only a month away! So if I just keep my head down and study, I should be booking a flight over very soon." the girl grinned, as a large smile danced upon Zachs lips. "I can't wait, you'll love San Francisco, i'll show you everything! Even that really nice take-out place I was telling you about." Zach grinned, excitement laced in his voice as he explained.
Aoife grinned, but her grin slowly falling as she saw a message pop up on her phone from a close friend of hers, Emma. "Oh shit.." she mumbled, clicking the notification and picking up her phone from where it was sat against the pile of books on her desk. "What? What's wrong?" Zach asked, as Aoife sat in silence, her hand covering her mouth. "Erm.. some of my classmates are after finding my channel.." she mumbled, as she fell at a loss from words.
"Is that a bad thing?" the boy queried, as Aoife nodded her head. "If they've found it, then atleast 30 other people know about it.. and then they'll tell other people.. and then they'll tell more people.. and then- Oh my god." Aoife panicked, as countless thoughts ran through her head. "Hey.. Hey! Don't worry about it! Trust me, You'll be fine, you only have.. what.. 6..? months in school left? Then you'll never see any of them ever again!" Zach reminded the girl, as she slid down into her chair.
"Y'know what? Who even needs school? Right? I can just.. drop out! I'll drop out! That's what I'll do!" Aoife stated, as she blankly ignored Zach's recommendations. He just laughed, as the girl spewed out all of her other ideas of ways to avoid meeting any other human in the world.
And so, for the rest of the night, Zach and Aoife sat on call, random conversations being held until the early hours of the next morning, well, for Aoife.. Zach not so much. Aoife had ended up falling asleep in her chair, her legs propped up on the desk as her head slung lazily to the side.
Zach sat contently, a small smile on his face as he looked out the window. For the first time in a while, he was happy. Even in the comfortable silence that sat between the two teenagers. He wouldn't change this moment for the world.
