       I went back inside and looked at the check and I noticed the name '𝙺𝚎𝚒𝚐𝚘 𝚃𝚊𝚔𝚊𝚖𝚒' "𝚗𝚒𝚌𝚎 𝚗𝚊𝚖𝚎 𝚖𝚢𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚛𝚢 𝚖𝚊𝚗" I chuckled I still couldn't believe I was holding a check that was holding a check that was worth that much. I was free the rest of the day so I decided to put the check in the safe in my closet and go patrolling the city for the rest of the day. I got dressed in my hero suit and left. It was a pretty peaceful day until someone tried to rob an old lady that was walking her little dog. I quickly took care of it though in a blink of an eye I had the villain unconscious and the cops on their way. Nothing else happened so at the end of the day I went home to relax and get cleaned up.

I woke up and looked at the clock to see that it was 3 am. I grumbled a bit as I sat up and sluggishly inched my way to the kitchen to make a pot of coffee. I have a shift at 4 am so I walked back to my bedroom. I work at a diner. I put on my uniform that was a tee shirt and an apron. When I finished getting dressed I stepped outside to find it was raining. '𝚄𝚐𝚑' Is all I could think of right now. I grabbed my umbrella and walked to work. I couldn't fly my wings would get heave because of the water. So I walked the three blocks to work. 

Halfway to the diner, the rain let up so I decided to fly the last one and a half blocks. I arrived at the diner and flew through the back entrance. I was greeted by my coworker's smiling faces which made me smile a bit in return. I work as a waitress at Mrs. Anderson's diner. But when they needed a cook I worked that to I know the recipes like the back of my hand. I liked cooking for people on the side. My shift came and went as usual. I was about to leave when a masked man came in holding a gun demanding all the money out of the cash register. The people in the diner were all on the ground under the tables except me and the owner Mrs.Anderson. I was trying to stop the robber and get the gun away from him. I had a plan but I just needed to get closer to him first. I put my hands up and started walking closer to him. 

    As soon as I was close enough to him to get the gun away from his grasp I had the gun half in my hands. A shot ran out and a sting in my thigh I screamed in pain and fell to my knees while trying to rip a part of my sleeve off to tie it around my thigh through the pain. "𝙷𝚊 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝𝚜 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚝 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚜𝚝𝚞𝚙𝚒𝚍 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚘 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚞𝚜𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚜𝚜". He turned back to Mrs. Anderson at the cash register "𝚆𝙷𝙰𝚃 𝙰𝚁𝙴 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝚆𝙰𝙸𝚃𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙵𝙾𝚁 𝙿𝚄𝚃 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙼𝙾𝙽𝙴𝚈 𝙸𝙽 𝚃𝙷𝙴 𝙱𝙰𝙶". She was scared but held her ground and calmly placed the money in the bag while fearing for her life. She was about to hand over the bag I got up and intervened. I used the last of my strength to knock the robber out and restrain him. The people came out from under the tables and started to cheer and shout. They rushed over to me and everything went black.

      I was awake but I couldn't move it hurt too much to do anything. Everything was muffled and there was a ringing noise that wouldn't go away. A pedestrian called the cops to lock him up and an ambulance to take me to the hospital to patch up my wound for me. They put me on a stretcher and loaded me into the back of the ambulance. The door slammed shut and everything went quiet. I woke up in a hospital room with iv's stuck in my arm. I slowly started to remember what happened and my eyes shot to my leg that was wrapped up and in pain. A doctor walked in the room and said "It's good to see you're awake y/n it's been 4 days since you have been brought here". They told me that I am lucky to have both my legs that the bullet did some pretty serious damage. They told me that I had to use crutches and fly a lot more from now on and not work so much. 

I told them I could manage and with that, they discharged me I flew to Mrs.Anderson's diner to see her and make sure she was alright. She looked at me with pain in her eyes as tears slowly ran from her eyes. She ran to me and squeezed me tight crying into the crook in my neck. She told me that "I thought she lost you" through tears. we talked for a couple of hours. I told her that I was tired and I was going to go home and rest now. 

 I flew home and found my front door is wide open. I plucked a feather from my wing and made it a knife and I slowly walked in trying not to make a sound. I scanned the rooms and I heard talking and shuffling coming from the second bedroom. I walked to the door to see seven men's shadows cast on the walls of the room. I was about to turn and enter the room when I hit something hard and last time I checked there wasn't a wall there. It made a grunting noise when I hit it and that's when I  realized it was a man. I opened my eyes and looked up to see ToughKitty201's boss standing there. 'His eyes were a stormy gray color and they looked absolutely beautiful I could get lost in them' I sighed in relief when I snapped back to reality when he waved his hand in my face. I put my feather back in the wing that I plucked it from. 

"𝚆𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚍𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎?"

"𝚆𝚎 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚖𝚘𝚟𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚒𝚗 Boss's 𝚜𝚝𝚞𝚏𝚏 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚛𝚘𝚘𝚖 𝚖𝚊'𝚊𝚖 𝚠𝚎 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚜𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚢 𝚝𝚘 𝚌𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚢 𝚝𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚋𝚕𝚎".

"𝙾𝚑 𝚠𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎 𝙸 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚛𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚝𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚍𝚘𝚠𝚗 𝚊 𝚟𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝙸 𝚐𝚘𝚝 𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚝 𝚒𝚗 𝚖𝚢 thigh," I said pointing to my tight that was wrapped up in bandages.

I followed them to the door and watched them all climb into a black SUV. They speed off and out of sight. I called all of my bosses to let them know what the circumstances are for right now. 
I flopped on the couch and turned on the tv to watch something but the first channel that popped up was the news. I was half asleep when I heard my name her name that is. It said  "𝙽𝚎𝚡𝚝 𝚞𝚙 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚢 𝚘𝚗 𝙿𝚑𝚘𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚡". My eyes shoot straight at the tv. They showed a clip of me fighting that guy at the diner. Then a few eyewitnesses talked about what happened. It first showed a little girl that was maybe 10 she didn't look that old. She said she really looked up to me and she wanted to be like me when she grows up. It went through a few more people and they all said they were really grateful to me and that I did a good job taking care of him. Hearing all those kind words made my heart melt and I felt accomplished.
