Calcium & Thyroidectomy
Approx 5% of patients who have had a thyroidectomy will have temporarily low calcium levels post surgery and <1% will have permanently low levels. Routine calcium supplements for the first few weeks help avoid symptoms of ↓ calcium. It is caused by poor parathyroid function, and typically presents with associated symptoms of tingling around the lips, hands, and/or feet.Candesartan
