My name is Zoella Forbes.
I'm 19 years old and I'm about to start my first year of college in Standford University, California.
My father used to come here when he was young, and he insisted on me coming to study here.
Whatever.
My parents and I don't share the best relationship ever. They are workaholics, too consumed by their works to pay any attention to their sons. Even my little brother, the most adorable criature on this entire planet gets to be ignored. But whatever.
I've lived with my uncle most of my life, back in Austin, Nevada. We lived in a house maintained by them, but my parents just didn't lived there with us, they were always traveling for work. They would sometimes come and visit for the weekends after a couple of months, and then leave again, as if we where a fucking hotel.
My uncle and brother are my most favorite people in the world. Uncle Steve is like a mixture of the cool uncle and the responsable and careing father, since we never really had a father figure to look after. He was kind of a friend to me also, a friend I would tell some of my secrets and who would always support me. And Max, he's just the adorable little brother.
It wasn't that I hated it there, cause I didn't. Yeah it's a small town, it's boring and there are no secrets here, but it's calmed and safe, nice. I once used to be that sweet adorable girl, the one all mothers want their sons to end up with. The tipical friendly neighbore who would get along with everybody and whom everybody wants to be friends with.
I used to have this sweet perfect boyfriend, who was my childhood sweatheart, an adorable and charming, careing boy who lived right next door. His name was Charlie, blonde, tall, hot, everything you would expect as a perfect girl's boyfriend. But things changed after a rebellious fase of mine, and after that, I never really was the same. I changed into a wild teenager my uncle didn't understand and my parents couldn't stand, not that I cared about their aprobal. I broke up whith Charlie and started going out with the trouble makers on town, but Charlie and I kept in touch even threw my darkest times. He was still my bestfriend, always there for me, taking care of me when I needed it.

Now that I'm finally free, finally old enought to escape the small town where I was raised by people who wheren't my parents, I felt relieved. As if all the stress of fufilling everybodies expectations suddenly disapeared from my shoulders.

It was freaking hard to abandone my younger brother and my uncle, even Charlie, my most favourite people in the world, but I had to leave that hole, where everybody knew all about you, and would always judge you.

I was heading to college right now.

My package is in the back of my car, my roadtrip to collage almost over. It took around 7 hours to get here, and I was exausted. My hands where sweaty from holding the steering wheel, my hair tied in a messy bun. I was playing my music loud, both of my windows down, singing the lyrics on a low voice, trying to shut the bad thoughts.

I parked my skyblue fusca volkswagen outside of the school campus, and inspectioned my surroundings. Everything was green, full of trees and stuff. Everywhere around there were students hugging, laughing, smiling or chatting.

I took a deep breath and slamed my car door closed. My eyes got lost in the sky, not really watching anything.

You can do this Zoey. Breath. Act normal. You can do this.

I sighed and faked a smile, turning towards my car to get my bags.

God, this is going to be a long year.

Jake

-There are beauties everywhere! Im telling you boys, this si gonna be the best year...

I stopped listening as my group of dumb-ass friends went on and on talking about the girls and parties they would do this year, already cheking out the new girls arriving at the university parking lott. I ignored them as returned my attention to the book on my lap, The boy in the stripped pajamas, which I was just about to finish in a few chapters.

A new car parked in front of us, it's noice snaping me out of my thoughts. The door opened, revealing a beautifull girl. I placed my gaze on her, unable to ncontrol my eyes.

Her hair was blonde, her eyes blue. She was wearing a jean short, showing her long tanned legs, a grey light sweater too big for her size and a pair of green mlitary boots. One of her ears wore multiple earings, and she had a piercing on her bottom lip.Her hair was placed back in a messy bun as she stared at her surronding, her lips slightly parted, her hands still remained on the door of her volkswagen.

She seemed lost, as if she was trying to pull her thoughts toghether.

I watched her grab her package and drag it to the entracance of the campus as my friends whistled and shouted things at her.

Jerks.

I stood up and ran after her silently.

-Hey jake! Were are you going mate? We are headed to Cory's for some pizza!- my best friend shouted after me.

-I'll catch up later, see ya Nate! - I shouted back without turning back.

I run so I could reach the girl who had caught my attention earlier. I stoped next to her and followed her pace.

-Hey - I smiled at her. I am usually the friendly guy, although I really can't flirt. I manage to have nice conversations with girls, and if I'm interested on dating them, I just go stright to the point and ask them out. Simple, friendly type of guy.

-Hey- she responded, looking at me for a second after returning to the map she had her hands, not really noticing me.

-I'm Jacob

-Zoella -she didn't even smiled or turned to me, her voice neutral, her consentration placed on the map. It made me feel a little uncomfortable, as if I was bothering her just by talking to her.

-Glad to meet you Zoe-

-Can you help me to the reception office?-she stop her pace abruptly, causing me to turn and go back to where she stoped and was staring at her map, completely concentrated with a frown on her face.- I'm kinda lost. -she let out a sight.

-Uh... shure!

She finally lifted her head from her map to give me a tiny smile, and widened her eyes, as if she had just noticed me. She put her map aside and actually looked at me, studing me. I grew uncomfortable as I could feel her gaze go all over my body, her eyes filled with curiosity.

-Sorry, what was your name again? I tend to zone out a lot. -she smiled again, rolling her eyes at herself.

I finally smiled at her, offering her my hand for a formal handshake -Its Jake.

-Hello Jake, I'm Zoey -She shok my hand. She then droped it and opened the map again in front of her, frowning- So... Well... Im really lost.

-Well that's a cliche- I laughed a bit, and, fortunatelly, she laughed along too.
-So can you show me around or shall I search for the next gentleman to find me? - we both laughed then.
-Nah, I got you, lost girl. - I replied, probably with a dumb smirk on my face.
