────── 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 rays of sunlight started to enter your window, seeping through the curtains. You groan silently, stretching on the cold bed while taking deep breaths.

Another living day. You thought.

Just as you were about to get up, a loud ring buzzed in from your phone, continuously.

"It's still early and there's already a case at work?"

The caller ID showed one of your subordinates, Sugimoto who was a few years younger than you calling. With a frowning face, you answered,

"Hello?"

"[G-good morning y/n-san! I'm extremely sorry for bothering you but I just received a call from one of the other divisions saying that there's a new case for us to handle! And they told me to inform you as soon as possible too so...shall I see you at the location?]"

Your eyes twitched in annoyance, they just couldn't pick someone else to settle it out.

"Of course, see you in a few." Then, you hung up.

"Looks like there no time for my morning coffee, sucks to be a cop huh?"

At the crime scene, there were already a few subordinates of yours with their full uniform on. Some police cars surrounding, putting on yellow tapes to restrict the area.

"What an unpleasant sight in the morning." You mumbled, catching a glimpse of the dead body.

One of the workers handed you a plastic glove and you began inspecting for a brief moment.

"Sugimoto-kun, write this down."

The younger man let out a hurried 'yes' before taking out his small notebook and a pen.

"We found out that the victim was immensely drug with a heavy amount. From the marks on his wrists and neck, it looked like he was forced to swallow the drugs."

"But he didn't die from that, there was already a deep injury that had been on his body. It looked like the wound has been there for a few days without any professional treatment, thus leading to death."

"Looks like he was trying to run away from someone."

You stopped for a while, head in the clouds to think for any clues left behind.
