Harry (in his old bedroom)

"Baby? Baby, you're having a nightmare."

"Oh, thanks, mum." Sleep talking is quite troublesome for your loved ones. Most of my band's put on ear plugs. "I've been dreaming of that girl, mum."

"What girl?"

"You know, yoga girl."

"You're still dreaming about our yogi? I thought that was just a fling. It got really awkward between us, you know. It's not like I could've quit. I'd paid the classes in advance."

"No, no. B...Boo!"

"Boo!"

"Hmm, what a lovely girl to have a nightmare about. I doubt it was a nightmare. You don't have to tell me about wet dreams, luv."

"Ew mum!"

"So what about your dream, luv?"

"She was lovely. She was shy. But she was fun. She talked too fast." She swore like a sailor, too, but I don't tell mum that. She might still think Boo's perfect and I don't want to ruin it for her.

"She is lovely. It's not like she's dead. What happened in the dream's got your panties in a twist?"

"The dreams aren't really about her. Well, she's just part of it. Like looming around me. A bit creepy, really. Like I know she's there, all the time, even while I'm singing with Chris Martin or surrounded by snakes."

"What a crazy dream," mum laughs. "Well, if you want to see her, you can drop by yoga class tomorrow."

"Oh, but we have autograph signing tomorrow. It's gonna be a long day."

"Then, you better sleep." She kisses me on my forehead and leaves.

Instead of falling asleep though, I couldn't shake her off my head. I almost fell in love with that girl. But I was very careful with her. At first, I just wanted to date her, but when we became friends, I began to rethink it. She was just a terrific, sweet, sweet friend. She would cook for me and give me all sorts little trinkets. One time, she even cut my hair. I didn't understand why she had so little friends. I didn't want her to lose a friend. And, well, if I dated her and it didn't work out, she'd have no friends. So it was either we'd just be friends or we date and I eventually marry her. So, I knew, that with her, I couldn't just date her like all the other girls, I had to be really, really sure, first.

And it's not like I was of age to actually think of marriage. I was 16! All we could ever really have at that time was friendship. Nonetheless, our friendship continued to grow, and we blossomed and might as well have been a couple. We'd stroll around the city holding hands, we'd sneak out in the middle of the night and explore swamps. She was a very brave girl. It was on one of those trips I got my phobia of snakes. I was bit and I passed out. I almost died, but somehow I survived. I woke up on my bed like nothing happened. Mum told me Boo had carried me to the doorstep. Seriously.

But then, I found out she had a potty mouth. And of all days to find out! I was about to... I had just made up my mind then that I'd marry her. I was 16, ok? Forever seems short for 16 year olds.

So we became best friends. We still hung out but I just cut my feelings, stopped them from growing. It wasn't working so I needed a distraction, so I asked the yogi out. Heh. But then Boo stopped talking to me. Weird, right? It's not like she liked me back or anything like that. She would've told me, right? I think it's just that she must have just been disgusted about me dating such an older woman. She's not the first girl who stopped talking to me after all.
