ONE

How did i get here? soaked and freezing the puddles in my shoes feel like they are forming ice cubes. In my hands, is what I can only hope will prove my innocence, I look up from my shoes and find the very person I am trying to prove that to.

"What are you doing in here?" he questions coldy, He stands a good distance away from me, something Im not used to when we interact.

"I just came to drop something off, but..um... your parents told me to come inside on their way out so-" I stutter out. Good one Remi.

"You can just leave it on the counter" he brushes me off before turning and making his way deeper into his house. I press my lips into a line to try and suppress the tears, if anyone else had spoken to me this way they wouldn't be able to walk away. But in some ways I do deserve to feel this way.

I place the disk on the counter, I hope he will give me a chance to apologise. I look down the empty hall, I take a deep breath before showing myself out.

*A Few Months Earlier*

"OUCH fran! You are literally going to rip my scalp off" I yelp.

"Well if you want it out before the end of lunch you better hold still"

"Im just gonna go and wash my whole head, that should work right?" I turn to her.

"What kind of logic is that?" she scoffs.

"Why do you let her pick on you?"

"I cant afford to be expelled or even suspended, You know that" I say packing my things into my bag.

"I dont understand why you wont just let me beat her ass" Franny scoffs. She is loyal and Caring, one of the reasons why she is so important to me. And why she has remained my best friend for as long as I can remember.

"Let it go" I smile warmly placing my hand on top of hers.

As if on que the bell rings, signalling that lunch is over. "Keys please" I smile widely holding out my hand.  Franny's locker in the change rooms literally has all the shower products you can think of, funnily enough the showers in the locker room are more luxurious than mine back at home.

"We have class now Remi" she half laughs placing the keys into my hand anyway. "Im top of the class I can skip one" i shrug.

"Oh Remi, when you become a crazy succesful entrepreneur or something, dont leave me" she says swinging her arm over my shoulders, "I would never leave you" I giggle.

"Except now, ill see you after school" I remove her arm and begin to walk towards the locker rooms.

When I get to the locker room a smile comes across my face, its empty.

I quickly go and find Franny's locker, when i open it, it is like i have hit the jackpot. It is jam packed with shampoos, body washes, fresh clothes, lotions, wash cloths and even body scrubs. "of course she has body scrub" i giggle to myself.

I take what i need and make my way to one of the stalls, I take my time and actually have a full on shower, I found some detangling spray and it worked wonders. Literally all the tangles and come out easily.

Deep in her Locker I found some sweats so I put that on, I feel amazing I honestly wouldn't mind doing this every single day. Just as I am about to open my door I hear keys rattling. It must be coach.

The sound coming closer, I close the door once again. I hear mumbling so she must be talking to someone, I crack open my door and see that she has her back faced to me.

My eyes open wide when i realise that she is kissing someone. I feel like my feet are stuck to the floor, coach has a husband so I am witnessing her literally having an affair.

"Why don't you come over again tonight?" She mumbles against his lips. Fucking ew

When they come apart the boys eyes flicker up and meet mine, holy fucking shit, its a student. I quickly make my way out, my heart is beating outside of my chest. I dont think she saw me though, just the boy.

I know him well, His name is Nico Knightly, he lead our school to our first championship victory in like 50 years. As long as Coach didnt see me my clean record should be fine, she is a bitch though and definitely seems like the type that make up a reason to get me suspended just to save her own ass. And I am one thousand percent sure that Nico has no clue who I am so think I am actually in the clear.

I spend the rest of the period in franny's car, I am wearing a bright pink sweatsuit so it would be easy for Nico to point me out in a wave of students id rather just show up tomorrow.
