They didn’t talk with each other rest of the way home, both lost in their own thoughts.
15 minutes of debating how to confront Jake, they went inside making up their minds at last. Though they expected Sofia to be solemn, they didn’t expect to meet a solemn Sofia before the news itself.
“Mom?” Michael asked, sensing her inner battle.
“Your brother is here,” she said, “with bad news.”
“Why?” he asked and after looking into her mother’s eyes, his face hardened as he clenched his fists.
Wait, what’s going on? She thought, looking at both.
She was going to ask them what the matter was when she heard a familiar voice, which made her gulp nervously. No way! It can’t be……
But it was. Her eyes widened as the last person she expected walked into her life again.
“Bryan?!”
His eyes went wide as dinner dishes, “Alexa?” he finally croaked out.
“Wait! Hold your horses! You know each other?” Michael asked looking from one face to another.
