The Dare

Chapter Three

|Caiden's POV|

"Come on that was the worst rejection I have ever seen" Kyle continued to laugh as we sat in my back garden that evening
"dude, it isn't over yet" I warned him
"But you can't even get her to speak to you let alone fall in love with your sorry ass" Kyle continued
"Yeah come on Caid, give it up" Jackson said joining in
"No no a dare is a dare" I reminded them making them both continue to laugh
"What is your next tactic then Einstein?" Jackson asked, I won't lie. I didn't have a clue
"Well I need a little help from a Kyle" I smirked at him making him roll his eyes
"I'm on the other end of this dare, why the hell would I help you succeed?" He asked
"because if you don't I'll let Lex know that you sold her best friend out for a dare" I said giving him a look causing him to groan
"Touché" was all he responded

A few hours had passed, Jackson went chasing after Isla while Kyle headed to meet up with Lexi. Leaving me to my own devices
I don't know how I ended up here but I ended up in the park my mum used to take me to as a kid, the memories here were something I only remembered through countless pictures but yet being here seems to bring some of them back up
It was pretty late, meaning it was dark here in the park but the random lights here and there kindly lit up my pathway
At the same time, it happened to light up a bench nearby where someone was sat, that someone being someone Mollie
Maybe now was my chance?
"Fancy seeing you here?" I asked making her jump a little before looking at me
"You don't take a hint do you" She said looking at me
"Nope, I'm not one for hints you know" I chuckled taking a seat next to her
"Yeah, I can tell" she replied before looking away from me, I couldn't help but notice something was going on here, I just didn't know what it was
"Are you okay Mollie?" I asked making her breathe hitch, she slowly nodded but I knew it was a lie
"What's wrong?" I asked, she shook her head and I couldn't help but think she was holding back tears
"Hey" I said placing my hand on her back as I saw one tear fall
"Mollie?" I asked but she shook her head again before trying to run off, I took her hand pulling her back. This time she was looking right at me and there was no shadow of a doubt that something was wrong
"What is it?" I asked but she still stayed silent
I decided that she didn't need to talk right now and she was clearly not ready to so I pulled her in close and to my surprise she didn't fight it. She wrapped her arms around my torso hugging me while I did the same to her
"Feeling any better?" I asked as we pulled away, she sighed and shrugged
"I should get going" she muttered and this time I didn't get a chance to stop her

|Mollie's POV |

Can someone please tell me what the hell is wrong with me, I spent the evening talking to Noah, he thought we could fix this but in reality all it did was make me feel even worse. Then I head to the park to compose myself, think through everything and Caiden comes in with his usual smirks 
I didn't mean to cry, I didn't mean to hug him.. it was a moment of weakness and I can't believe I let anyone see that 
"You look like you have been crying baby" Mum said as she came into my room
"Just crap with Noah" I replied earning a sympathetic smile from her
"I know Jenn is missing you" Mum reminded me, I smiled before loading up my laptop. Mum knew at that point that meant I was about to call her so she vacated the area

"There she isss!" Jenn smiled through the screen
"Hey Jenn! I miss you" I smiled back
"Trust me, I miss you more! You still wanting to come up next month?" Jenn asked and I frantically nodded. Jenn was my big sister who is best friends with Maisie, Lexi's big sister. They went away to college last weekend and to say I miss having her around is an understatement
"Is everything okay Mo?" Jenn asked, Mo was the childhood nickname she gave me while I call her Jay
" Yeah just Noah drama" I replied
"What's happened now? I've heard a lot about the reputation he's made of himself at his college"  Jenn asked
"He was talking to me about trying to fix us tonight" I said to her making her laugh
"I love you Mo, but please don't be that stupid. He's already sleeping around at college. You deserve so much better" She ranted
"He is?" I asked and she shortly nodded
"It's what I have heard and from what you've told me about the boy I would be more surprised if it was wrong" she muttered, I gave her a small smile before she sighed
"Mo do you need me to come home? I can tell you aren't okay?" she started to panic
"No Jay, I'll be okay. It's just a break up at the end of the day" I replied 
"Yeah I know that but he was a big part of your life" She reminded me
"Maybe you need to find someone to distract you" She offered and I chuckled
"Oh I'm distracted. One of Lexi's friends Caiden has taken it upon himself to try his luck and it's safe to say it isn't going well for him" I laughed
"Now I haven't heard that laugh in ages. What is he doing?" She said joining in on the laughter
"He was being a pain in the ass in my lesson's and then followed me around like a lost puppy because and I quote, he wanted to get to know me and shit" I laughed alongside Jenn
"Now that is something, what's his deal?" She asked and I shrugged
"I have no idea, I only met the boy the other day at the party" I told her 
"Well hey, a distraction is a distraction none the less" She smiled

I won't ever tell her this but maybe Jenn is right, Maybe this would be a good distraction. It's not like I have to encourage it but I don't need to completely shoot him down
