At last, the big day was here.

It was the most exciting day. A long table was set in the grand hall. Decorations and flowers occupied every wall. It was your choice to have the ceremony in the open, where every Asgardian could witness your eternal reunion.

Cold feet found its way into you but you managed to brush it off. Actually, Loki did. His sweet, loving caresses and endearing words were enough to melt you even more.

He was a changed man, everyone had noticed that. The previous wrath that he had caused on Midgard was nearly forgotten, his good deeds outdid the bad. It only made you more proud of him.

You even noticed how he would help out the lesser fortunate with food and clothing. He didn't want anyone to know about it, but you were, after all, really good at stalking people. It was a gift.

On the morning of the wedding, Loki had somehow slipped into your room, unnoticed. You had been awake for a while, just thinking about today and every day that would eventually follow.

"Darling." He purred.

"Sweetie." You said back.

"Are you ready for today?" He asked, towering you and taking your warm hands in his cold ones.

"I think so. I mean could anyone actually be ready to marry a God and become immortal? And both in the same day?" You said and breathed out.

"I have something I wanted to tell you." He said, eyes gleaming.

You immediately tensed at his words but managed to nod.
Did he finally think it was a mistake?

But before you could say anything, the two of you had been transported magically to a some other place. It was illuminated by the night sky. Shooting stars and nightingales singing their song.

Loki was on one knee. Kissing your knuckles, he reached into his pocket to take out a shiny green box. A small one. For a ring.

"I realised that I never actually got the chance to propose to you. At least not in the way I wanted to." He breathed.

"Oh-" your words caught in your throat as he continued.

"Y/n, my dear, I've lived one lifetime too many already. Roaming about with no goal, no actual purpose. But since the day I'd met you, everything has changed. And I thank the Norns that I got the chance to be with you. Body and soul. You're the only one for me. Will you be mine? Do me the honour of being my wife? Be my glorious purpose?" Loki said, looking up at you. Stars reflecting in his eyes as he opened the box for you to see.

You didn't realise that a few tears had left you when you knelt down in front of him.

"Of course, Lokes! I've been yours since the day you smirked at me from behind Thor. And I will be yours till you want me and even after you don't." You say, sniffing.

"I could never not want you." He said and took your hand.

The promise ring that you so religiously wore was slipped off only to be replaced with another ring. This one, bigger and brighter that the one before. Studded with intricate emeralds, lined with gold and carved with stunning designs.

A long hug and a few tears later, the two of you were transported back and he left you to get back to looking over the preparations.
The smile never left you, though. The smile that he had given you.

Your wedding dress was tailored for you and it was gorgeous. Words couldn't describe how otherworldly it looked. How beautiful. Studded with diamonds that looked like stars. What's more was that when the lights would be down, it was bound to glow.
