Nothing is better than a break from work, when you can go to your favorite store and feed the hunger that has been building up over the last few hours of your shift. The moment you entered, you could feel the slightly sweet, yeasty aroma that somehow smelled warm coming from the bakery at the entrance. All of the pastries were still hot and as you got closer the aroma got stronger. The donuts were calling you, covered in sugar and filled with tasty apricot jam. After debating for a few minutes you decided to buy one, as a dessert, since after all you didn't eat breakfast. You decided to browse through the store and see what else you could buy for lunch, it hasn't been long since you moved to Tokyo, you were still trying to get used to the busy life here.
You paid for the food and you just realized that you have been out for way too long. With all the food in tow, you started running towards your workplace. You worked in a small bookstore as a part-time job, it was certainly interesting to see what kinds of books people read and write... Some were more questionable than others, but then again who were you to judge.
Luckily, the bookstore was empty, the only person in the shop was your boss, she sat behind the counter and appeared to be texting someone. You walked past her into the breakroom so that you could heat up the water for the ramen. Your boss entered the room and leaned on the door frame. Your boss is a woman in her forties and her name is Sasha. She absolutely loves food, which may have influenced her decision in marrying her husband who was a top tier chef in Tokyo. While he is busy, he always finds the time to bring Sasha something to eat, without it being leftovers, he is really dedicated to making her a fresh and hot meal to eat at work. She would always be so happy, when he brought her food, it was a beautiful sight to see. Easily being the sweetest person you knew, Sasha was always there for you, since you moved to Japan. She always acted like a mother which really made you feel loved and safe, even if you are far from home.
Sasha started laughing quite loudly ''I'll leave you to it, but when you finish with your lunch, notify me. While you were away he brought me my favorite dish. A pork steak and potatoes on the side. I can't wait to eat it.'' ''Yes, Boss, I will finish soon, so don't worry.'' She laughed and waved you goodbye, closing the room door behind her, it wouldn't be too good if the customers were to see you stuffing your face.
"I finished, go and enjoy your meal. " "Thank you, sorry if I rushed you." "No, no it's fine I have been slacking off the whole day, so it's my time to work now anyways." Sasha thanked you with a beaming smile on her face, you always love seeing her happy and working at the bookstore wasn't all that boring either. You can finally nicely organize the shelves and fill them up with new books. Around lunch time, nobody comes to the store, it's always empty and so you usually organize it and make sure that everything is in place for later. Since you've been slacking off in the morning, you decided to do some inventory, organize and then find the oddest book you are able to and read it.
Not long after you actually started being productive the bell on the door rang. You quickly looked in that direction and saw three men in suits entering the bookshop. This brought on some confusion, but you stood and greeted them like any other customers. "Welcome to the bookstore, do you need any help finding anything?" you said with a bright smile on your face. "No, we're just looking around." one of the men said. The first thing that caught your attention were the two red earring dangling from his ears. His eyes were a lilac purple and his hair was white, which wasn't something that you would see very often. An odd sight indeed. "Okay, if you need any help I'll be over there." you said pointing at the counter. "Thank you." he said before joining the other two men in the bookstore.
You went over to the counter and pretended to do something, just so you could spy on the men. They were very handsome to say the least and they came here to buy books which is a bonus. The tallest one of them three had a scar on his eye, a pack of cigarettes was peeking through his pocket and his hair was dyed with blonde and black streaks. It made him look older than the two other men, but nonetheless he was hot and that was the only important thing. The one that they were seemingly following was the shortest one, you would have assumed that he was a kid if he didn't look a bit odd. His hair was white, probably dyed, you can see the blonde roots coming out, his eyes were empty almost as if he wasn't alive, almost as if he...
Nonetheless, this might be your lucky day, you would ask them for their names, if you weren't a bit scared of the short one. There was something about his appearance that made you feel scared, like there is something wrong and that something really bad will happen. It was making you a bit anxious, you haven't felt like this in a while. He was fairly familiar, actually all three of them are. Are they famous? How do you know them? These questions were clouding your mind, something was off about them.
Before you could come to a conclusion, they finished browsing the shop. You put on a smile again and forgot all about what you were thinking before. Maybe it was just you overthinking it a bit, maybe? The short one put the books on the counter and you scanned them. You told them their total and the short man gave you his card. You gave it back and gave them the books. ''Thank you, have a great day.'' you said, waiting for them to leave the store.
''Actually, before we go, may I ask you for your name? I'm Manjiro and the other two are Izana and Takeomi.'' the short one said. Manjiro and Izana, where did you hear it before? It was familiar, very familiar... ''Nice to meet you, my name is (Y/N).'' you said, giving them a faint smile. "That's a very beautiful name. We have to leave now, but we'll come again soon." he said waving to you as he was leaving the store. Finally, they disappeared from your sight, it was a relief really. You threw yourself into the chair behind the counter and started thinking. There is only one person that can tell you and you were dreading to call that insolent idiot. You decided to let it go till the end of your shift, you can deal with it later or even tomorrow it isn't even that urgent, or is it?
