Cat Noir is not heartless in this story. There's still some of his old self but he never wants to show that due to a sign of weakness.

(Marinette's POV)

It's been a year since the boy I secretly love has disappeared and my partner Cat Noir became a criminal. It's such a disaster without those two in my life. Why did Adrien disappear? Did his father send him on edge? Now his identical cousin took over his photo shooting. I'm all alone fighting the villains and I can't replace Cat Noir with any of my friends with or without miraculous.

"Oh Tikki, what am I gonna do? Without Cat Noir as a hero, crime has risen tenfold in Paris." I spoke to Tikki.

"But Marinette, he did save you a few times as a criminal" Tikki reminded me.

"Yet he calls himself a supervillain or anti-hero. Because of Adrien being gone I've barely visited my friends. I need some air as just myself." I walked outside the bakery down the streets.

While walking, I was so deep into my thoughts I didn't notice a guy I bumped into.

"Urgh!" We both grunted.

"Oh, Sorry Mar...I mean madame." He said.

"No, I'm sorry I was not looking." I looked to see a guy who seem to be a goth punk or something.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"I'm fine." I dusted myself off. I tried to get a good look at his face but his hoodie covered most of his eyes, "Are you new here?" I asked shyly.

"Just arrived here. I'm Aiden Bastet." Aiden said.

"My name's Marinette Dupain-Cheng." I introduced myself to him.

He looks a little depressing with that style but at the same time, he looks cute.

"So where did you come from?" I asked.

"Well far from Paris," Aiden replied.

"Well, I'm just out to clear my head after losing a classmate," I said, failing to hide my sadness.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that," Aiden said.

"It's fine. Some say he disappeared while some think he's dead. But it's best if I move on. So, how come I never seen you at school?" I asked as we took a walk in the park.

"Homeschooled actually," Aiden replied.

"Wow, you remind me of him" I was surprised that he reminds me of Adrien being homeschooled.

"Do I? My parents taught me a lot about this city so I moved here to learn more about it." Aiden said.

"It's not that. You remind me of someone who was homeschooled. Ever heard of Adrien Agreste?" I asked and he nearly flinched at that name.

"Well I've heard of him but he went missing," Aiden said.

"Well, he used to homeschool until he came to my school. He was really caring and stood up to his friends." I said.

I can see he smiled a bit but barely shows any emotion, "Maybe someday I can go to your school which is next to you. But I like learning things alone. It's kinda what I do. What do you do for a living?" Aiden asked.

"Mostly doing designing arts for clothing," I said.

"I see. I'm just a sneaky kid. I like darkness" Aiden said.

"Okay then." I shrugged.

"Anyways, I gotta get going. It's nice meeting you, Marinette." He said as he left the park.
