"Skye" I croaked when I finally came around. "It hurts, it hurts really bad." Skye gently lays me in bed, drawing the blankets over my aching body. He sits at the bedside, curling his tail around me and placing his paws on my forehead. "I know it does kid, just stay with me. I'll get you medicine."

I shook my head, wincing. "No, medicines not gonna help me out." A snarl escaped his lips, his eyes became flinty. An overwhelming fear washes across his face. "I should've taken you to a hospital. I shouldn't have listened to you. Now were stuck!" His voice wavered between savage growls and serpentine hisses. I had never seen Skye like this before, a bold shifty rogue diminished into a nervous wreck, cursing himself for not being able to help me when he had the chance. Even if he had brought me to a hospital, I doubted there was anything they could do. I doubted there was anything anyone could do.

Skye placed an ice bag on my forehead in attempt to subdue my fever. He poured a dose of syrupy medicine in a glass. "Hang in kid, I'm doing the best I can." "Thanks," I whispered. The persistent pain racked my muscles, sending tremors down my spine and my forehead ablaze.

I cringed. "Skye, what's going on?" What's happening to me?"

"I don't know Champ." Skye said. "Try drinking the medicine, that'll probably help." I took the glass slurping the sticky, sugary yet sour medicine down my throat. Already some of the pain had subsided and my fevered lowered, but I wasn't out of the woods yet.

I scratch my right wrist, pulling away the Chozo bracelet. The silver blue mark is had greatly enlarged, swelling across my entire wrist pulsating with dark blue veins. I gasp in shock, what the hell is this!? I had never seen the mark get this big, what's causing it now? Terrifying thoughts reeled in my head as I wondered what was wrong with me. Am I infected with a deadly pathogen, am I slowly dying? Or worse, have I been corrupted!?

Skye hissed on seeing the mark. He pressed a claw to my wrist, bent on piercing my skin. "Don't touch it!" I snapped in pain. Skye backed away startled. "This isn't good, Champ, I'm gonna have to tell someone. If it ain't a hospital, I'll get Ziir." He made a low growl. "Something tells me he knows about this."

"No!" I said desperately. "Don't leave me alone, stay with me!" "Fine." He did not speak for the rest of the night. I barely slept through the night, twisting and turning beneath the covers, grimacing in pain. It began as uncomfortable throbbing but grew worse as the moon passed. My body blazed in agony and my heart raced rapidly. Ribbons of sweat dripped down my smoldering skin.

At this point Skye had enough, he had ignored his gut for too long and decided to take me to help, whether I liked it or not. His paternal instincts drilled inside him, commanding his mind and will. I felt his arms wrap around me. But before he could even lift me from the bed, I screamed, pushing him away with such force he thudded against the wall. He was too stunned to move.

An agonizing pain tore down my back, spreading throughout my entire body. The pain builds up within me until I can bear it no more. My senses are blurred, my muscles twinge. I become deaf to my surroundings, only hearing my racing heartbeat escalate until I was sure I'd have a cardiac arrest. My wrist burns like the surface of Norfair and an overwhelming power tries to overcome me. I fight back with all my might, but it is no use. A voice in my mind whispers to me, telling me to let go.

It is time, my child. Become what you really are, and revel in the truth. I cry out in shock, It was a voice I never heard before. A woman's voice but not human with the booming rumbles of a dragon. I succumb to the power, letting the unimaginable happen.
