𝕏𝕧𝕚𝕚𝕚. 𝕗𝕣𝕖𝕟𝕖𝕞𝕪Gerard sat down at his desk. "So, who did you say you were studying with tonight?"
Athena quickly improvised while Allison nodding in agreement. "Just Lydia. We're prepping for our world history midterm."
Athena and Allison quickly put on a smile trying to sound intrigued by Gerards words. "History was one of my favorites. Especially military history. Ever hear the phrase, "know thy enemy"?"
"It's from the art of war by Sun Tzu." Allison raised her head a little in a cocky way reciting her knowledge.
Gerard raised his eyebrows down, revealing the wrinkles on his forehead. "Very good. Know what it means?"
"In order to win a battle, one must know everything they can about their enemy." Athena put her arms on the sides of the chair while Gerard tilted his head to the right. "Right again. Your father and I happen to be having that very problem. We've got an enemy about which we know next to nothing. It's killed one of our own, among others."
"I've heard." lowly spoken with grief in Allison's voice. "Did you hear Jackson Whittemore didn't show to school today?"
Athena put on a confused look tilting her head to the left. "He didn't?"
Gerard tried to see past the lies by starring at Allison and Athena. "His parents called and so did the police. You wouldn't know anything about that, would you? Well, let me tell you what I know. I know that a teenager's first instinct is to protect their friends. And I believe my granddaughter would always want to protect her friends, even if it meant lying. So, I want to ask one more question, and this time, with a small advantage. I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to get a sense of your pulse. Think of it as a game. All you have to do is tell the truth. Do you know anything about Jackson being missing Athena?"
"No" Athena started moving away while Gerard got up and walked around to Allison putting his hands on her shoulders. "Is he in trouble?"
Allison stuttered over her words, having their grandfather put his finger on her neck pulse. "I - I - I - I don't know. I don't know."
"Does this have anything to do with Scott?" Gerard leaned closer to Allison. "No. I mean, I don't - I don't know."
"Your pulse jumped."
"You're scaring her and me. Let go now! Allison, come here!"
Allison quickly got up moving towards Athena. "It's because you're scaring me."
"Oh, I'm sorry, sweetheart. That was definitely going way too far." Gerard walked closer. Athena protectively pushed Allison behind her. "No kidding."
"It wasn't right for me to use tactics like that. I'm sorry. You can go back to class. Go ahead." While walking out Athena grabbing ahold of Allison they looked up at the cameraman installing a camera in the office, looking back at Gerard.
Victoria, Athena and Allison's mother walking in her high heels clicking on the floor. "I'm afraid your teacher was feeling ill today, and had to leave early. So, unfortunately, you're stuck with me as a substitute. Can anyone catch me up to speed on where we are? Mr. McCall, how 'bout you?"
Athena walked up to the front where her mother was standing. "I'm not feeling good. Can you write me a pass to go home?"
"Sure."

"I have a tail?" Athena pulled open the van's back door sliding beside Stiles "Yeah, you have a tail."
