Reach
------------
Dear Mom, I feel unloved,
I no longer feel the warmth of a glove.
My hands they're shivering, cold as ice,
I had to end up rolling a dice.
No, it didn't help.
I lost all of my money, possessions, all of my wealth.
My life, dependant to live by feeding on bottles,
liquor being sold by packs and portable bundles.
"Take a sip," I gave into it,
Just one sip and I got addicted.
I got addicted to feeling so alive,
yet at the same time, I was also dying.
The widest grin plastered upon my face,
everything around me looks like a race.
The obstacles you've encountered,
all of them, in a snap you've conquered.
I haven't had dreams in a long time,
not that I've been planning to sleep.
Betting my life on a penny or a dime,
no one would care when my heart stops beating.
Tears shot out of my eyes,
"I'm about to die," I cried.
Out into the void of completely nothing,
since nothing was there the whole time I've been sinking.
I can't swim out of it today,
not tomorrow, not right now, not any other day.
Once you've started you can't stop,
your life depends on the machines and slots.
You'll die for no one and leave dignity behind,
cause now your place has already been signed.
They're taking it away,
all because you didn't pay.
"Mom, take me back in your arms,"
What a pity, my child. I'm inside the dark.
No one knows me anymore,
I've already gone, right under the floor.
I ran for it, chased it but eventually it's gone,
my time on Earth had just begun.
Although today I couldn't reach the sun,
because tomorrow, I'll plan my life to be done.
