Shit, she looks so pissed off. When she reached us she motioned for Jacob to piss off in which he quickly ran off, giving me a small sorry sign on his way out. I swear a bit of smoke came out of her ears when she saw him, glaring at me.
"Matilda.", She said, and paused for a second putting her hands on her hips, as I braced myself for the huge lecture she is going to give me about the dangers of smoking weed.
"Matilda. I am so disappointed in you.", She said, with her voice cracking half way through. It hurt more than yelling, it was like I let her down, and I let my entire body slump. It would of been better if she just yelled at me.
"I'm so sorry Granny, today was just too much for me.", I said with my head down, slightly exaggerating it so she would be mad at me. She pulled me into a tight hug after a moment as I smiled slightly.
"I know, I know, but there is more ways of feeling better than smoking this, this, poison", She said shaking her head. I just nodded trying not to argue with her and she smiled. Well that was anti-climatic. I expected at least a whack or something like father use to do. Not even a smack on the hand
"Come on, time for dinner", She said sighing, and put her arm around my shoulders, leading me back into her flat where I could smell warm food. Jacob was sat at the table waiting for us, tapping his fingers against the table as we walked in.
He instantly got up, a look of guilt on his face that he had gotten me in trouble.
"I apologise Granny, it was my fault entirely, I thought it was cool, and got her into it as well, please dont punish her for my own actions", He said with concern and sincerity written all over his face. Granny nodded her head looking down on him slightly and motioned for him to go get the chicken pies and fries from the kitchen. He nodded and ran quickly, giving me a small smile on the way.
She then turned to me and raised an eyebrow, looking me up and down.
"Huh. Wondering on when that was going to happen", She said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes and nudged her arm gently.
"Granny! Stop he can probably hear us", I whispered to her, as she chuckled and leant back in her chair as she did so. She then mockingly put a finger up to her lips.
"Whatever kid, just dont go getting pregnant alright, the last thing we need around here is a baby that's for sure", She said jokingly but I could tell she was being deadly serious. I rolled my eyes at her and shook my head. We aren't even dating!
"Of course not Granny", I said smiling as she gave me a discreet wink, causing me to shake my head at her again.
Jacob came back carrying two plates with our food, placing it in front of us with a little now and then went back for his, I got the knives and forks from the kitchen at the same time. I walked in and Jacob pulled me into a tight hug and let go after three or so seconds.
"Are you okay?", He asked me concerned. I giggled at the fact he thought Granny would do something to hurt me.
"Of course I am silly", I said with a smile, causing his whole body to relax. He hugged me once again, tighter this time before letting go, his hand on the side of my face.
"You have an amazing smile Tills", He said grinning, staring at me in the eyes. I looked to the side and blushed, I hated that about being ginger, blushing at the slightest thing.
"What's taking so long, oh Matilda, why are you bright red, are you sick?", She asked with a smirk. Stupid old lady.
"No Granny, perfectly well", I said glaring at her playfully. She then grabbed the cutlery out of our hands with a smirk as we followed her to the dining room.
