chapter 11: saying goodbye (final)

Note: if you have the same feeling as I did while writing this chapter. It was very painful to write. Please play this only the long song when reading from after the last fight.

Josh Haruno 8th: (voice-over) "previously on The Gondorian knight and the lion king."

The first round of fighting against the goddess of Rhongomyniad, was his first recreation fights against her, she charges up her noble phantasm and destroys his shield as a shard in beds itself into his side. S.Alter and Mash go to fight her as their master runs over to him. During their respite, Rhongomyniad finds his sword, she recognises it and turns to the trio as Fujimaru managed to get the shard out of his side. Rhongomyniad remembers who he is making everyone but her saber altered self surprised.

-currently-

Strider was seriously injured when Rhongomyniad pieced his side with her lance, she was shocked about what she had done. As he collapse she catches him and knelt by his side. Realising that he was dying, the goddess was trying not to break down as he raises his hand to her cheek.

(Play track)

Josh Haruno: (dying) "I.. wanted... to... let... you... know...that...it...wasn't...your...fault...my...love..."

Rhongomyniad: (voice breaking) "J-Josh... I-i'm so sorry. I-i caused this singularity."

Josh Haruno: (dying) "Don't... be... Artoria...just remember.... that... I...always...loved...you..."

Rhongomyniad: (hold his hand from her face and tears start to escape her eyes.) "P-please I don't want to lose you!"

Josh Haruno: (dying and weakly holds her hand) "it's...ok...Artoria..."

He remembers a flashback

-flashback after the battle of Camlann-

Josh was riding as fast as he can with his love behind him. Artoria was very weak and was trying the best as she can to stay awake.

Josh Haruno: (to himself) "hang in there, dear."

Artoria: "Josh? C-can you stop now?"

He pulls up and ties his horse against a tree close by. Josh had placed Artoria against another tree. He had placed a couple of his fingers against her wrist and finds out that she was dying from the injuries she had suffered from Mordred.

Artoria: "Josh...(glups) I-I'm... scared..."

Josh: (tries to hold back his tears) "I'm here."

Artoria: (dying)"can... I... Hold... your... hand?"

She weakly holds up her hand to him and Josh takes it till she passes away. Josh checks her for a pulse but she didn't had one anymore. He pulls her body to him and cried softly.

-flashback end-

Realising that he too was dying in the hands of the avatar of the sacred lance, Josh didn't mind as he breathes his last, the hand that was in the Goddess' falls to the ground, as his fingers stopped twitching. Fujimaru, Mash and S.Alter started to cry as he drew his last breath and the goddess checks for a pulse only to find that her love was no more. It really hit her very hard like a train wreck. Rhongomyniad literally broke down as she rocked his body to and fro while her cries echoed the throne room.

At Chaldea, Roman was trying his best not to get emotional as an a ruler class, Jeanne D'Arc was emotional and places her hands together in hopes that he would be around afterwards

-the singularity-
Fujimaru notices that Andruil was glowing and disappeared from her hand as it returns to future. Strider's body starts to disappear as well.

Fujimaru: (voice breaks) "T-thank Y-you Strider, no Josh for all your help with the singularity."

S.Alter was on her knees crying hard as she covered her mouth and Mash hugs her knowing that she had lost the love of her life. When they heard a familiar voice.

Josh Haruno 1st: (voice) "don't be upset guys. As long as you remember, I will be in your memories for all the bonds we had forged. I'm certain that we will meet again one day."

Fujimaru asked the crying goddess what she is going to do next but all she got was nothing as she returned to her throne. Then before they were going back to Chaldea her altered self said something very important to her lancer self.

S.Alter: "it took you sometime to remember him 'me' but just remember what he said: 'as long as you remember about the good and the bad things' for you both would have each other to the end."

As the rayshift takes them back, the goddess somehow knew that he is still alive and the one who died in her arms was the same one as her time as king. She closed her eyes and starts to remember her special day when the two got secretly married. Rhongomyniad smiled as a tear escaped from her eye.

Rhongomyniad: (thinks) "I know that you are alive somewhere in the future, love... and thank you for believing in me."

The era has started to correct itself.

-Chaldea-

Mash and fujimaru are waiting patiently for S.Alter to return from the rayshift. When the coffin opened up, there was S.Alter in a state where she was hugging her legs. Making her companions a little worried about their friend. The pair take her to her room where she could recover from such an ideal of losing her love.

Mash: "Senpai, do you think that we'll meet him again?"

Fujimaru: "Honestly? I don't know. Then again we could see him again sometime in the future."

The two stopped to look out at a window.
