Leonidas shivered in shock and terror as he beheld the sight before him. Six glowing red eyes peered back at him. Leonidas had never felt so small, so helpless, so weak before in his life. "Everyone grab a parachute and get to the escape hatches!" he yelled out to the crew on board. Everyone began to scramble, grabbing the parachutes and heading to the lower levels where the escape hatches were. The floor began to shake as cracks began to form. "It's trying to rip the ship in half!" Leonidas yelled. Warning the crew to hurry up. As the ship began to crack Leonidas watched as his men were falling from below. The window shattered into pieces and the floor began to split apart. Leonidas knew he had to leave so he grabbed a parachute and instead of taking an escape hatch he decided to jump out of the window. As he fell from his great creation Leonidas looked up to see the giant rip the Screaming eagle in half. His heart sank as he witnessed pieces of metal fall past him. What he had worked so hard to build was falling right before his eyes. But that shame quickly turned to terror as he saw The Hive Queen put her arm back before throwing half of the Screaming Eagle towards The Remnant .
Iris and the small group of soldiers she was with were left wondering if The Commander had gotten their message. After a few minutes with no response The Captain made up his mind. "Everyone move out, we're leaving!." As he began to lead everyone out one of The Hive Minded landed on him and stung him in the back. It wasn't long before he was ripping his face off and was transformed into one of them. A swarm of Hive Minded fell from the ceiling and began circling around the group. They began to pick off the soldiers one by one by either stinging them or pushing them off the narrow walkway. It wasn't long before Iris was the last one standing. She began running towards the entrance she came in from with The Hive Minded right behind her. One of them landed on her and prepared its stinger. Iris punched it in the face. She got up and tried to run away but the beast was able to claw at her back tearing the back of her shirt. Iris escaped to a ledge on the outside of the palace. She grabbed an assault rifle from the ground and shot all The Hive Minded soldiers chasing her. Iris took a deep breath and took a second to get her bearings. She turned around to get a view of the landscape. All was quiet. It was calming. She noticed how she didn't see the screaming eagle in the air. She thought nothing of it. A flash then burst right before her as a pillar of fire ascended from the ground right in front of The Remnant .
The shield Generator began to crumble before the people's very eyes and the bright blue barrier that had kept them all safe began to wilt away slowly disappearing. People started screaming in terror as The Hive Minded began to pour in. The emergency signal blared throughout The Remnant as well as a message from Sovereign Leader Ramses Thesphra. "Everyone, move into the beaver district. We will activate the backup shields. Stay inside and prepare for anything!." Luckily almost everyone who lived in the Lion District, the outermost of the districts, were out fighting The Hive. So it wasn't long before everyone was inside the Beaver District. The power to the Beaver clans shield generator was quickly turned on and the area was covered. Guards were dispatched to drive out The Hive Minded who had made it in. Bullets flew through the sky as The Hive Minded tore through buildings trying to find people to sting. Slowly but surely The Hive Minded were killed one by one falling from the sky leaving nothing but their corpses. The citizens cheered as The Hive Minded died in front of them. Thinking it was over the guards smiled and waved taking in their praise. A large shadow loomed over The Remnant , when the people looked up they saw a three headed giant looking down on them. It raised all four of its arms before beginning to pound on the shield. The ground shook and the people retreated back into their homes. Tanks rolled out into the street readying themselves to fire. But they could not until the shield was down, so they sat there waiting as The Hive queen kept up her assault.
