Fire's spread throughout the makeshift shelters that had collapsed in on themselves. Though they were crude and hastily built. They were what the Lion Clan citizens called home. At least those who had made it back. Several soldiers stepped forward, removing their helmets and truly taking in the carnage that had become of their home. "Is it like this across the entire ring?" Iris heard one of the soldiers ask. Trossler seemingly heard it as well as she quickly pulled out a tablet with an aerial view of The Remnant displayed. "I'm afraid so," Trossler answered. "Looks like the Beaver Clan did not escape unscathed either." As soon as that statement left Trossler's mouth Lilly rushed past her towards the steel doors guarding the entrance. The guards let her through and she ran past them into her home. Daniel ran after her worrying about what she would see. Iris attempted to follow as well but was stopped by Leonidas. "You are going home, your highness!" he commanded. Leonidas called over two soldiers to escort Iris home. Iris did not protest. She nodded and began walking with the soldiers back to her home.

"Lilly!" Daneil called out. He had quickly lost track of his sister in the fog and ash that had covered the area. "Lilly, where are you?." He continued looking around. After several minutes of searching and finding nothing he walked up towards the nearest wall and sat down next to it. He heard a crashing sound from the other side of the wall startling him. Daniel looked around trying to find a way around the wall. Eventually he found a hole which he crawled through. He saw what looked like the insides of a house. A dusty sofa on the side wall next to the hole Daniel had crawled through. Looking left of the couch, there was a broken holoscreen. On the opposite wall he saw a recliner chair facing the screen. But it was not empty. Daniel couldn't tell what it was so moved in closer to get a better look. He then immediately stepped back and vomited on the floor at the gruesome sight. He took another look at the burnt corpse trying not to retch all over the floor again. But he failed as he was able to recognize the person who was lying there. It was one of his old friends from when he was younger, Oscar Brigen. Memories flooded Daniel's mind of when he was younger, playing with Oscar and his then brother Dillan, they would pretend to be mighty heroes who would defeat The Hive and save everyone. Tears welled up in Daniel's eyes as he crawled back through the hole he had used as an entrance.

After popping out of the other side of the wall and now having a solid grasp of where he was Daniel began walking home to see if that is where Lilly ran off to. After a short walk he saw Lilly standing in front of the pile of wood and bricks that had once been their home.

Iris was escorted into the bronze palace by the two soldiers. While it was nothing new to Iris as she had seen it every day, the two soldiers however were amazed at the decorated halls. Iris smirked at the two soldiers witnessing their amazement. She looked back at them about to make a snarky remark when she saw them bend their knees and kneel before her. She looked behind her to see her father rushing towards her. Ramses held Iris close to him, rubbing his hand on her head. "I was so worried about you!" he said, holding back tears from his eyes. The two soldiers looked awkwardly at each other unsure what to do at the moment. "Please Leave us," Ramses requested. The two soldiers complied and left. "What were you thinking, Iris?" Ramses demanded to know. "You could've gotten yourself killed!." Iris looked down in shame which then soon turned to anger. "I had to protect my home," she stated. "I did my job as a princess, no as a citizen and helped to fight the evil that lurks outside!." Iris stopped as she realized she was beginning to sound just like her brother. Ramses realized that as well. "Iris," he said softly "You are all I have left, if I were to lose you I don't know what I would do with myself. And while yes, as it is our duty as the leaders of what is left of humanity, It is my job as a father to make sure nothing happens to my children. A job that I've already failed once." Iris felt her stomach sink. Ramses was right. She began to feel terrible for what she did. Iris hugged her father tighter. "I'm sorry," she whispered before letting him go. "I have to Go now," Ramses told his daughter. "The Clan leaders are wondering what to do next. So I must come up with an answer." Ramses then walked away to the conference hall.
