I Love You Baba

Raynor was not ready for his day to go as it did. After all no one expects to have a son one fine evening and nor do you expect a man from the past to show up at his door steps. They have only spent one night together in that hotel room. He can see the child's face and there is no denying that this child is his.
His child whom his own men kidnapped to aid a creepy stalker like Borderick. He still remembers a whole night spent with this man when the story came tumbling out of his mouth as they laid in post coital bliss. He had not waited for the sunrise. Like a coward, he had left that hotel room before Daner woke up. That night he had made himself more vulnerable than he ever did in his life till date.

"If that's all I need to leave," said Daner and Raynor sighed inwardly.

"You cannot leave now," said his Baba sparing him the trouble.

"What do you mean by I cannot leave?" snapped Daner and everyone around him fell silent because no one spoke to Baba like that- ever.

"Our enemies would know by now. You and him will be in more danger outside the Isles or even outside this den. If you want to keep him safe, your option is to stay," said Raynor.

"I have kept him safe so far. I will go somewhere new and make us a different identity and live there," said Daner, his eyes going wide even as he said it, growling like a cornered animal.

"It simply won't be enough. Before today only Borderick wanted to find you. After today, there will be hundreds of men looking for you and the child," said Raynor. Now was not the time for being subtle.

"How about we talk later? You have tired yourself out and Dale has too. Maybe we will talk after you both have a rest," said Babbo, always the sensible one.

For a moment it looked like Daner would lash out. But then he sighed and gave a small nod.
"Okay," he said and he could actually feel the relief that went around the room. After all, no one would want to be responsible for having to restrict their donna for the mating mark was now visible when the kid shifted in Daner's arms.

"You have a lot of explaining to do, Raynor," said his Babbo as Esket led Daner to one of the guest rooms.

"You mated with someone and didn't see it fit to tell anyone?" asked Baba, his tone cold and furious.

"It just happened, alright? And I didn't want to drag one more person to this shit show. Anyway we are sinking, why drag one more person to a sinking ship- literally and figuratively," sneered Raynor.

"So? So you just leave your mate out there. Your son grew up without his alpha parent. Don't you regret it even now?" asked his Baba.

"I don't and I won't apologise to you for not telling you or anyone. It is my life and it was a choice I made and I will live with it as I have till this day," snapped Raynor and everyone else have made themselves scarce as usual when the father and son fights which is almost always. Even today, Raynor is surprised by his choice of heir. They never get along- then why choose him?

He turned and left to his room where he can break down in peace.

Daner had not expected such a meeting again with his husband. How easily he had thrown himself at a man he had only known one night- mated with him that very same night and ended knocked up with no husband to turn to because said man had left even before he woke up- no words exchanged. The message was clear and he didn't go looking. He is sure the man has his reasons and he doesn't owe Dan anything other than perhaps an explanation as to how on earth he ended up being part of something that got their son kidnapped.

Their first and only night together is still a blur to Dan but one thing he knew for sure is that he had to shamelessly persuade the alpha to take him. The man had been reluctant to take advantage of a heavily drunk Dan but how long could he have resisted with Dan rubbing himself all over the alpha. It's almost funny recalling it now after so long. He sighed. He knew what they said is true even though he hated to admit it. But what of the future? Can he honestly raise his child in a mafia den? Did Raynor even want them here? In all these years he had never imagined a day he and his son saw Raynor again. But here they are.
