Babbo's Advice

Raynor was very much aware of days passing as time went by. He was waiting for the other penny to drop and for Daner to say they are ready to leave. He finds himself spending more time with his son and sometimes, locking himself in his room and isolating himself. It was a hard decision. He was unable to handle the impending departure for he knew it was coming. For one, Daner and his Baba still don't see eye to eye.

Daner has no reason to stay here, does he? Raynor was so deep in thought that he didn't notice Dan till he sat down in front of him.

"Why are you giving mixed signs to our son?" asked Daner. Raynor sneered, all his self-control gone to dust.

"Oh let me guess? Because I am getting attached fast and you may decide any fine morning that you have had enough and leave," snapped Raynor, all the insecurities coming out as anger directed at Daner.

"I am still here and so is Dale. I can't lie and tell you that I know what I am doing because I don't. But I will. When I do, I will inform you first and foremost. I won't take your son from you one fine day," said Daner.

"I have to trust that? When I have only known about my son for a month?" asked Raynor.

"I am trusting you despite you leaving me in our marital and mating bed, so maybe yes, you should," said Daner equally angry.

Raynor doesn't know who kissed first. He felt Dan going pilant in his arms as he deepened the kiss. The lips which tasted like turmeric and sandal and something uniquely Daner melded with his and Raynor doesn't remember going to where Daner is.They continued kissing until they were breathless. Raynor wanted to mark his omega, claim him again. He wanted to bind his omega in a thousand ways to him.

Daner knew they should probably stop. This is not good for them in the long run. They should perhaps talk but all he could do is melt. He was so tired of being strong for himself and their son. He wanted to let go and be taken care of for a while. Is one night too much to ask for? So he closed his eyes and let himself be pulled into the soul stirring kiss.

When his back hit the bed, his legs wrapped around Raynor and pulled him down.

"Alpha," he keened as the man kissed down his neck, licking on the mark, biting and leaving marks everywhere.

"You are so beautiful sweetheart," mumbled Raynor as he worked Daner open.

"All yours alpha," mumbled Daner as he threw his head back and accepted his alpha inside him- again.

"I was scared," mumbled Raynor as he moved rhythmically with Daner.

"I know, I was too," said Daner and they kissed again.

"I am glad you kept him away for so long. I will never wish this on any child let alone mine," said Raynor.

"It's not so bad. The people here are kind in their own ways and the land- well, maybe it was his destiny to be here among his people when such a decision is being made," said Daner keening as he upturned his alpha who caught him and moved upwards. Daner took the chance to lick his way through his alpha's erect nipples eliciting wild moans from the man. His alpha finished inside him and Daner braced as the man continued to make love to him till there was nothing more Daner could do than give in and come.

They laid there in each others arms.

"I don't regret it," said Daner looking at the ceiling, his hand on Raynor's head which was now resting on his chest.

"I know. I can't bring myself to feel regret either," said the man self depreciatingly and they just looked at each other for a while more.

"I cursed you when you left me alone after promising me the world and them myself for being a big fool to have believed it. We knew each other for one night- just one," said Daner.

"I meant whatever I promised. But I had forgotten who I am when I made those promises. You made me forget who I am so easily," said Raynor. They kissed again.

"I want you to get out of here with our son and stay in Uliel. I will come to visit when everything is settled in Mergamo. That's the best solution for Dale. I will call every day and speak to him but away from me and thus my enemies is the best future I can offer him," said Raynor.

"We will leave next time Selma is here then?" asked Daner, tucking his head atop the man's.

"Yes. She will be here at the start of next month," said Raynor.

They freshened up after that, silently.

"I will go bring Dale," said Daner to Raynor who was surprised but grateful. That night all three of them slept in the same bed as a family- a major decision for their future made. Daner and Dale shared Raynor's room with him after that night.

Daner cannot explain his decision rationally. He wanted and needed this- the proximity to his alpha. Perhaps it is a need deep inside him after being denied everything all his life. Even the career he fought hard for haven't meant anything for him in the face of a family. That had urged him to give up the career and raise his son in the best possible way.

He is a father, yes and he is also an omega who is united with his alpha after a long while. He thinks perhaps Raynor's Babbo understands because he gave him a soft smile the next day when he stepped out of Raynor's room.

Perhaps it's a parental thing and he has no examples to compare it to.

"Come, I will make you a tea. You look tired," said Babbo, soft but firm as he led Daner to the kitchen. The man made a tea and then made him drink it as he made a quick breakfast.

"Toast and eggs with salad. He will be happy to have this. I will bring milk for Dale later. Now you go eat breakfast together and relax, yeah? Don't think too much and too hard. Son, sometimes, we have to live in the moments rather than worry over it," said Igor.

"If I ask you something, please don't be offended," said Daner. Here, with only them in the calming silence in the kitchens which is only disturbed by the whirring sound of some of the equipment, he felt daring enough to ask.

Igor nodded.

"How did you- how did you manage to raise them here with- with Baba. No offense but he is not an easy man and I find myself watching Dale ever step of the way and I know Raynor is too. How did you even-

"It was not easy. Falling in love with a man is easy. Staying in love- that's the hard part. Both parties have to work for it and let me assure you apart from his dismissive attitude sometimes and talks about omegas, ultimately Sven's Baba is a good man. Some bad habits we can't correct overnight or even in years. He is fully aware he is wrong at this point but sometimes people need to hold onto illusions of being right to stay on solid ground and trust their instincts. Forgive us old men some idiosyncrasies. Raising kids with him was the easiest part. Do you know I was his lieutenant before we had Sven? He was so against the idea of an omega lieutenant because he lost his birth parent to enemies. He was set on his belief that they can't protect themselves until I proved otherwise. Some habits like I said are hard to brush off. Anyway, we both had the same conviction when we had our boys, raise them well and safe. We have managed to some extent I think. The way I looked at it- life is dangerous everywhere for the donna of Almens. Then I thought to myself, hell, I will live with the man I love. Why give up on ourselves when we can take care of our children better together. My husband- he- he clung to me one whole day- not leaving the room. He said, he is happy and worried but we have been alright so far," said Igor.

Daner asked one question and got answers to so many of his questions that would have followed. Truly there is a reason everyone called him Babbo. The man can truly see through you.

"Igor"

"Ah, he is awake. Let me go and off you go. No more unnecessary worrying," said Igor.
