Raynor rolled his eyes with a mighty scowl on his face as Daner was getting ready to leave somewhere. Dale matched the scowl.

"You both better behave while I am away. If I hear one complaint from Babbo, both of you are grounded for life," said Daner pressing a kiss to both their forehead. He touched his slightly swollen belly fondly before looking back at them.

"Must you go?" asked Raynor.

"I promised Mihai and the others that I will attend the omega night with Esket. You know we missed last one and I am yet to hear the end of it. Be good boys over here," said Daner and hugged them.

"We will drop you then," said Raynor and Dan nodded giving in.

They stepped out to see Esket was ready and Sven stood with their baby in his arm. Their son Ame is only one year old. Dale's attention was successfully diverted as he caught sight of Ame. The family house now had more people than earlier what with Igor and Elov adopting all the children who were left homeless and had no one to look after them. There were five such kids and three were girls and two boys. Sven and Raynor enjoyed being the big brothers and welcomed all five with open arms. Dan knew for a fact that both parents enjoyed this chance at parenthood.

"When Sven and Ray were kids, he was very busy and we lived in constant danger. Now at least he gets to enjoy raising them with me," Igor had said. Daner on his part was slowly warming up to Baba even three years after he came to live with the family. They often argue about things but more in good nature than anything else. He is sure these days Baba picks up fights with him for the sake of it.

Raynor drove them to the palace since they were having the get together there. He saw Oskaar was sprawled on Taylin in the lawn which meant they have been kicked out already.

"Es, Dan," called Leif as he rushed out. He then nodded to Ray and dragged Esket inside. Daner looked at Raynor.

"Eat well and take care of yourself and junior in there," said Raynor.

"I will. You better not join the kids and Sven in making a mess of the house. Be the adult," said Daner pressing another fond kiss to his forehead.

"I love you," he mumbled softly.

"And I you. Come home soon," said Raynor and then his car was gone even as he made sure to give Oskaar the middle finger for making elaborate smooching voices.

I know, this is not the usual length for my books. but hear me out. It was either finishing the book in the skeletal form I planned or letting it rot like Way Back Home. I chose the first so that you guys can have closure. I ran out of energy halfway into this story and lost inspiration. I don't see myself picking it up if I leave it incomplete now and hence the chapters are a little different than I initially expected. Moreover, I think I have covered the key things I wanted to explore with this one. Brace for the next one. This Book will feature the Extras from the Arkwood series hereafter. Lots of love xoxo
