Regnard woke up with a start. He opened his eyes and saw Blaze still fast asleep. Regnard sighed as memories from yesterday came rushing back to him. He remembered how his reflection on the pool had shown him from the future . . . a terrible looking future.

Regnard suddenly got an idea. He decided to look at the pool again; maybe he'd just imagined his reflection. Regnard carefully walked out of Blaze's home, making sure to not wake up or disturb Blaze.

Regnard quickly ran towards the forest, after that. As Regnard ran towards the forest, a sudden thought occurred to him. Regnard realized that the dark 'fog' must be smoke---meaning that Blaze was in his future! This was because fire caused smoke, and Blaze had firepower, so Blaze must be with him in the future. Regnard raced towards the forest with more energy. He wanted to see the soothing reflection of him---the reflection that had found its way to make it clear that Blaze was going to be in his future.

Regnard slowed down once he was in the forest, and near the pool. Regnard could almost smell the water.

Regnard suddenly stopped. He gasped as he realized that a wolf was standing in front of him. It was purely black, taller than him, and fully grown. But that didn't alarm him; the wolf that stood in front of him had strange, dark smoke surrounding it---its ear tips, its tail, its paws, everything. Regnard couldn't help but feel relieved that it was much darker than the 'fog' that he'd seen in the reflection, meaning that Blaze was in his future.

The strange wolf growled at Regnard. Regnard started backing away. Suddenly, the wolf leaped towards him . . .

Blaze yawned. He looked at where Regnard had slept and saw that it was empty. However, Regnard's scent was as strong as it normally was whenever he went hunting. Blaze got up. There was something that was calling him to the forest---some strange feeling, which, for some reason, he felt within his white paw. For some reason, Blaze knew that the only reason why he felt the feeling was because he was in control of his paw.

Blaze felt a strange sense of foreboding. Blaze quickly ran to the forest---making sure to look both ways before and during the time he was crossing the roads, of course. As he ran to the forest, he realized that Regnard had gone to the forest, too.

Without the strange feeling Blaze had, he would have been relieved, knowing that he could ask Regnard for help if something was wrong. However, with the feeling, Blaze felt even more worried and decided to follow his scent instead.

As Blaze got deeper into the forest, Blaze realized that Regnard's scent was heading towards the small pool. Blaze felt slightly less worried, thinking that Regnard had simply decided to check on his reflection. However, halfway to the pool, Blaze realized that Regnard's scent now merged with another scent . . .

Blaze gasped as he realized what the scent was. His white paw started to get warm, just by scent, and Blaze quickly gained control of it before it started a forest fire.

Blaze ran as fast as he could, following the trail of the familiar and yet unfamiliar scent and Regnard's scent.

Blaze soon arrived at the small pool and stopped. The scent continued, but he couldn't help but look at his reflection again.

Blaze gasped. His reflection had changed; he was still flaming, but now the fire tips were darker, the fire around his eyes completely dark, and his white paw was now dark and had the strongest part of the fire, also completely dark. His left eye---the same side that his white was---was black. His other eye remained the same color, green, but his eye had changed . . .
