Blaze was suddenly drawn to the past, back to when he was a kitten barely old enough to leave his mother's milk. Blaze was chasing a ladybug that had flown to his home. Blaze's parents were watching them, but Blaze was unconscious of them, too busy trying to catch the ladybug.

Blaze suddenly felt something soft underneath him, and when he looked down, he saw that he was on a soft patch of grass. Blaze purred, and he started walking around the patch of grass.

"Ouch!" Blaze suddenly yowled, when pain pierced through his white paw. Blaze limped back to his parents.

"There's a thorn in my paw!" he complained.

His father purred. "Don't worry, I'll get it out."

His father yanked the thorn out and then dropped it. His father bent down to lick Blaze's head, before he suddenly stopped, and stared at the thorn. It was black, and Blaze soon realized that his father was worried about something.

"A-am I going to be okay?" Blaze mewled, worried that the thorn had been much more than just a simple thorn. Maybe it's poisoned, Blaze thought.

"Er . . ." his father began, still distracted. Then, seeing Blaze's worried expression, he quickly mewled, "O-of course! I'm just surprised! You were very brave!"

Blaze purred, believing him with all of his heart.

Suddenly, it was a bit more than a year before the real-time(with Regnard and the Dark Wolf). Blaze was fighting with his father---in a training session, of course. Blaze's mother had died, so it was only him and his father. There was also a she-cat, Bella, a pure white cat with blue eyes who used to be a pet, who loved Blaze. Blaze loved her back. He'd showed her how much more fun it was being a wild cat rather than being owned by a human.

        "Help!" a cat screamed.

Blaze turned in the direction. He recognized that voice!

"Bella!" he yowled, running towards the direction, forgetting all about the training session.

Blaze found her surrounded by three dalmatians, each of the dalmatians big and strong. Blaze instantly pounced on the first one, turning his firepower first on his white paw, and then all across his body. The dalmatian yelped with pain, and Blaze quickly jumped off before it could knock him off. The dalmatians only stared at him for a split second before scattering, afraid of him.

        "Thank you, Blaze!" Bella purred.

Blaze turned his flames off before meowing, "Of course!"

Blaze and Bella entwined tails while walking back home. Blaze's father was waiting for them there.

"I saw you back there," Blaze's father mewled to him. "Good job."

        Blaze nodded.

Blaze and his father continued to train; his father told him to try his best to knock him down, acting as if he was using his firepower. Bella was watching, so Blaze wanted to show her how good he'd become.

Blaze and his father looked at each other. Bella was just behind his father, only a little way away so that Blaze wouldn't accidentally hit her.

Blaze pounced towards his father, missing him by only an inch.

"Come on!" Blaze's father meowed. "Your fire would've been stronger than that, but even with that clumsy move, it would've failed!"
