Bryon's POV of chapter 6

Bryon's POV

Heading down rose street after responding to a break in. Looking down an ally I see a bunch of kids that had to be in there early teens. Parking the squad car, I got out and headed down the ally with my partner in toe behind me. Getting closer to the group of kids is when the pot smell got stronger. Stepping on something I cursed when it made a snap and the group of kids heads turned in my direction me. Grabbing for the closes kid to me before he could get away. After getting a grip on his hoodie the hood came off and when I saw who it was I sighed loudly. I can't give this kid another break. I felt bad for lily, she had to deal with a teenage boy and a four year old little girl. Just thinking of lily brought a smile to my face. She was very beautiful with her long brown hair that fell down in ringlets, and her green eyes. I still can't rap my head around the fact that she had a kid. Pulling myself out of my thoughts. I start pulling Allik toward my squad car. Putting him in the back seat I got in and waited for my partner to get in. Calling in that we had a kid in the back seat and that we were taking him home I started toward lilie's house.

After ten minutes of driving I finally pull up in front of the apartment building. Getting out I grab Allik out of the car and I head up to his apartment. Knocking on the door, after a couple minutes I knock again but louder. Then I heard someone fast walking to the door. Someone pulled the door open. When I saw who it was I see lily in a short silk robe with a pair of white shorts and a pink cotton t- shirt. When I looked at her face I saw the hurt and anger together. " I found him in an ally with a couple of kids, when I got a call about someone breaking into a house on Rosé street." After she opens the door to her house more, I take Allik down the hall to his room with lily leading the way. After that we back out to the living room and lily went to the kitchen and made two cups of coffee. While she was gone I took this time to have a look around the living room. Looking at the pictures on the wall I saw lily, her parents, Allik and Kallie, smiling on a beach. Hearing someone clear there throat I turn around to see lily standing there with coffee in each hand. Grabbing a cup," you Guys look happy." A smile played at the corner of her lips as she nodded her head yea." It was the last family vacation we had together before the accident. After three times of changing the date we finally got to go to Venice beach. After that I was to busy to see them. The trip used up all of my vacation time. But I wouldn't trade those two last weeks of seeing my parents for anything."

After she was done talking she looked up at me. Not realizing what I was doing, I put my hand on cheek a rubbed the pad of my thumb a crossed her cheek. Before I could think twice about what I was doing I lean in some. About to kiss her, but befor I got to close I felt her jerk away." I can't, I-I'm sorry." After she said that she got up from the sofa seeing the tears in her eyes I knew I did something wrong. Seeing her head to the door I knew she was going to tell me to leave." I think u should leave." Getting up from the sofa I headed over to the door letting my gaze linger on her for a few more minutes before I walked out the door. Hearing the door close behind me I headed across the hall to my apartment. Opening the door I went inside, after cursing at my self I decide that a shower was in order and then head back to the police station. Knowing the day has just began I knew that it was going to be long and by the looks of it, it wasn't going to be good.
