Lara had been completely devastated ever since her fight with her husband. Deep down she knew he was right to some extent, and that her aggravation towards him was merely fear of losing him. And now she had come to believe that she had - with only her children and her home, that was all Lara had to fight for right now.
It was the very next morning that Lara woke up cold and alone. When her hand reached across the bed, she was disappointed by reality that David was not there to spoon her or admire her beauty or help her find comfort of any sort. It felt so out of place that tears began to run down her cheeks as she sat upright and placed her face in her hands, the morning sun broke into the room, disturbing the darkness that dwelled within the corners of the room.
After half an hour of crying, Lara removed herself from her horrid state and fixed herself up before going for breakfast. As per the usual morning, Lara's headache commenced when her children came sprawling into the dining table room where the four children picked their seats with one another evenly halfway down the table from their mother.
Lara sat at the very end as Winston brought a trolley of breakfast which consisted of scrambled eggs, bacon and toast with jam and butter. Once breakfast was served, the children dug in, sloppily eating all the while Lara ate in dead silence, unable to put up with the migraine her children were giving her due to the racket they were making at such a time in the morning.
And yet, the children had etiquette as they ate, despite making a slight spill with their meals. All the while Winston made off to have his own meal in the kitchen whilst the family had theirs. At the end of breakfast, Winston cleaned up after the family while Lara made the conscious decision to spend time with her children.
The family of five serviced themselves in the yard where Lara found joy in watching her children frolic in the garden. Their giggling warmed her heart as she spent but a few minutes with each individual child until playtime became lunchtime. Lara was taken by surprise when Winston dragged himself along to hand her a letter. She was surprised by it, took it and opened it and revealed its contents.
'Dearest Lara,
You're probably wondering why I'm writing to you, especially after our recent... disagreement. Look, I know that we've known each other for a while now, and that we should have absolutely no reason to distrust one another. I love you, always have, always will.
I've made another discovery. Something less erotic as the ones you and I have discovered. Treasure. I know we don't need it, but its value was too much to pass up. At least I hope this prevents whoever's after me from getting enough funds to start a manhunt on you, me and the children. And Winston, of course.
I don't know who's decided to put a bounty on my head but I'll get to the bottom of this and find out just who is behind all of this. And hopefully you and I can have a talk and maybe reconcile.
Always yours, David'
If she was being honest with herself, Lara cried in shame of how she treated her husband. She truly missed him. She needed him.
"It came in this morning, ma'am. Mailed all the way from Manila. I believe they are currently on their way to Cochem." Winston reported to the younger woman, hoping that what he said would value her commitment to her marriage.
"Germany?"
Lara pursed her lips, the letter she held tightly onto with her fingers. She let it go from her hands and rushed off to begin adventure and find her husband. Elsewhere in Manila, David and Jessica had sparked a celebration of their locating the treasure. Their private celebration made them filled with excitement and glee. The pair resorted to drinking in their festivities, singing obnoxiously to the music that blasted through their radio.
