The hidden word

They say she has a word scribbled in  permanent marker across her eyes.
They say it has a story behind it,
A story of dark secrets and shame,
And that word, can only be pain.
For when she crawled up and cried,
Her happiness was denied,
She tore a few words into her skin,
Stay strong,
And then once again, she'd sin.
No one seemed to notice,
The storm of emotions,
When she thought of drowning in a vast ocean.
It's funny how much a smile,
Can hide so much,
She'd think,
When really, I'm bleeding so bad,
It looks like ink.
