Trust

Was hurt. Word vomited. This somehow appeared. Enjoy :)

Like a butterfly it flew away

It's trembling wings yearning to break free

Of your unforgivable grasp

Of your shameful grasp.

Like a plague dread threaded your veins

For the one you worked so hard to catch

For the one that made you fall and bleed

The thought of loneliness never really sinking in.

And so the cage of beauty lay empty on your bed

Blinking back at you with a disdain filled brain

No longer full of the thing that gave you hope

No longer full of the thing that kept you from tying that rope.

All because of a mistake; a harmless, heartless mistake

One you didn't really wish to make

One that took your life away.

With the blanket of trust no longer holding you up

You fell helplessly back

And with darkness patiently waiting to hoist you up

You welcomed it like the moon and the stars.
