eunji sat herself down on the toilet seat and couldn't help but have a massive grin on her face. she'd forgotten about the pain in her hip and had focused on one thing, and one thing only. kang saebyeok.

her hand moved to her neck and she slowly ran it down to her chest where purple marks were now forming. memories of what just happened flashed through her head and made her feel dizzy with happiness.

maybe, she did have a chance at surviving and getting out of this place. maybe, she did have a chance on getting her mother out of the house with hyunwoo, and maybe, just maybe, she could have a chance at going to jeju island with her mother and saebyeok and her family.

"hey, are you okay in there?" saebyeok's voice was heard after a knock at the door. eunji let out a cough and nodded, even though she couldn't see her. "yeah!"

"okay, well just hurry, we can't have one of those guards coming in here and killing us, now can we?"

eunji smiled and started to get changed. they were given a black suit with a bow tie and their numbers on the suit jacket.

once she finished, she opened the door and was face was saebyeok leaning against the wall that divided the cubicles.

eunji's breath got caught in her throat at the sight of saebyeok in a suit. she looked so good in it, it was mind blowing.

"you look..." eunji couldn't think of the word to describe it but when she looked the taller girl up and down again, it came to her. "hot."

saebyeok let out a breathy chuckle and rolled her eyes. "let's go." eunji nodded and saebyeok held her hand like normal and they walked towards the door.

saebyeok quickly came to a stop once she placed her hand on the door knob. "whatever you do," she began and turned to face her girlfriend. "don't tell anyone about, you know what." her eyes trailed down to her wound and eunji nodded.

"i love you." eunji said with a smile on her face. "i love you." saebyeok replied and placed a soft kiss on her lips before the two left the bathroom.

plates of food were being put down in front of eunji as she looked around. they had brought out a table and shaped it into a triangle and had candles lit to make it look fancy.

as eunji was sat in her seat, she felt horrible. the pain in her hip had increased and was 10x worser then before. sweat was taking over body and her lips started to get dry.

"tonight's feast is prepared as a token of gratitude for the sacrifice and effort that you finalists have made, and to encourage you all to perform even more splendidly in the final game. now please relax and enjoy your feast." the man with a square on his head explained.

eunji looked over at the remaining players and saw that sangwoo had already dug into his steak. gihun following after and saebyeok eating away without another care in the world.

eunji on the other hand, felt sick. she felt the need to throw up but knew that nothing would actually come out. as she sat there, and observed everyone else, she started to sense that something was very wrong. she slowly looked down and could see a patch of red blood.

her eyes slightly widened and her breath got caught in her throat. she looked back up, hoping that nobody was watching her. none of the players were, but one of the guards ─ the one with a triangle on his mask to be exact ─ had been looking at her.

she licked her lips and picked up her knife. her hands were trembling as she tried to cut into the meat. she finally broke a piece off of the bone and placed it in her mouth. she couldn't eat anymore after that. she was too full.

once everyone had finished, the guards were taking away their plates and cutlery, but had purposely left the sharpest knife in front of them.

eunji looked at the others and saw that they were too looking at each other. she slowly reached forward and picked up the knife, bringing it down into her lap.

after everything had been put back to normal, the giant room was dimly lit. saebyeok was sitting in her bed with eunji beside her. eunji had her eyes shut, hands clamped over her wound that was bleeding out with her lip between teeth in agony.

"it hurts.." eunji whimpered as she tried to move to get comfortable. saebyeok looked down at her and her eyes softened. "we've only got one more challenge, okay? we can make it through this."

eunji nodded and squinted her eyes shut. saebyeok licked her lips and pulled the younger girl into her arms.

"we're gonna be just fine." she reassured her and kissed the top of her head softly. "when we get out of here, we'll go to jeju island, yeah? with your mother and mine and my brother. it'll be fun. you just gotta keep your eyes open, don't close them." she whispered.

"kang saebyeok," a manly voice said, causing saebyeok to look up from eunji and held out her knife as protection. "it's all right." gihun reassured. "i didn't come here to kill you both. she's been dozing off. i'd have killed her already if i wanted to."

"no you wouldn't, because i'm here." saebyeok stated, as she watched as gihun brought his knife up to look at it. "i have this with me because of sangwoo there. protection, you know."

gihun put hit knife in his pocket and saebyeok slowly put hers down. the older man sat down beside the bed, against the wall. "she's not holding up too well, huh?" he asked.

saebyeok glanced down at eunji who was going backwards and forwards between consciousness and unconsciousness.

"i feel fine." eunji groggily spoke up, licking her lips and swallowing due to how dry her throat and lips were. "so how come you barely touched your food earlier?" gihun questioned lowly.

"i wasn't hungry." she answered. "stop lying, please." gihun said looking up at the two lovers. "and if i'm hurt? are you gonna try and treat it?" eunji sighed. "you need to think about yourself. just leave us. we'll be okay."

"hey, eunji, saebyeok, we should stick together." he suggested. "we can beat him. whatever the game is, we'll help each other get through this as teammates. show that psychopath what we can do."
