Chapter 3: Strange feelings

Rouge woke up slowly and had a headache from drinking last night. She remembered everything including the kiss.

Rouge: I was so drunk, I didn't know what I was doing. Where is he?

She looked around the room and didn't see him. She got up and saw a note on her dresser.

Note: hey Rouge, sorry to leave like this, it was work. I left you some French toast in the kitchen. See you at work xo.

For some reason to her, Rouge felt a little sad that Christien left. It was like how Knuckles would leave without a note to protect the Master Emerald.

Rouge: well he's not my boyfriend anymore, it doesn't matter. I could have almost any man I want.

Rouge changed into her jumpsuit but with fur around it instead of leather to keep her from getting cold.

Rouge: now who should I ask out? Oh that answers pretty obvious.

She put in her boots then gloves and walked out to the cold air. She flapped her wings slowly, then increasing speed, and she flew off to the top of an apartment building.

Rouge: this is it.

She went to the roofs door and opened it to a staircase. She walked down till she was on the 5th floor.

Rouge: I hope Shadow says yes, he's always seemed lonely lately.

Just as she was about to knock she hears someone coming down the hallway. She saw Knuckles and Sonic walking.

Rouge: damn not now.

Rouge walked to the staircases again and his in there. She heard Shadows door open then close.

She walked out and went back to Shadows door, placing her ear onto it. She heard three guys and a girl laughing and talking.

Amy: so wait Shadow has a girlfriend now? Who is it, come on tell us.

Rouge was heart broken to hear that Shadow was already with someone. She hoped that it wasn't someone she hated.

Shadow: Lien-Da.

Rouge was about to pound on the door and tackle Shadow. She hated Lien-Da a lot and for her to be with Shadow devastated her more.

She walked away to the roof again. She was on the edge of the building looking down.

???: you ok?

Rouge turned around to see Christien leaning against the door with something in his hand.

Rouge: The guy I was gonna ask out...was already taken.

Christien: I'm so sorry to hear that.

Christien walked over to Rouge and gave her a big hug. She smiled and hugged back.

Rouge: you were always so caring, I can never repay you.

Christien pulled out and gave her the little box. It was rectangularly sized and Rouge was curious about what was in it.

She opened it to find a real life diamond necklace that Rouge had wanted for five years.

Rouge: you...you bought this for me?

Christien: you're the best friend I ever had, and I said what better way to repay her?

Rouge out the necklace on and almost jumped in excitement. She was happier than she had been in a long time.

Rouge: oh I love it. Thank you so much.

She looked at Christien, and a little smirk came to her face. She put the box in her pocket.

Rouge: would you like to go to dinner with me tonight? We have work first but after that can...

Christien: yes, we can.

Rouge smiled and hugged him again. She whispered into his ear softly "my troubles are gone now that I'm with you".

She then flew off while Christien stared at her with a smile. He walked back to the stairs and got on his motorcycle when he left the building.
