Chapter 5: Decisions

Rouge spent a long time keeping her feelings out in the open, she didn't want people on her case. Christien was the one who kept bugging about it though.

One day Rouge had enough of it and flew to Angel Island, and do two things she meant to do for a long time.

Rouge landed softly on the island, making her wings flap out the dirt and dust that was stuck on it.

She crept her way to the monument where Knuckles usually watches his master Emerald, and there he was laying next to it, taking a nap.

Rouge: Oh Knuckles Knuckles, you really shouldn't have broken my heart.

Rouge walked slowly to the giant glowing Emerald, and flew above it. She grabbed it with both hands, making it off its stand that held it.

The island started to fall back to the earth, waking Knuckles from his slumber. He looked around quickly to see Rouge looking right at him.

Knuckles: Rouge?! What the hell are you doing?!

Rouge: The one thing you deserve.

Rouge flew around in circles, going faster, and as she reached her top speed, she let go of the Emerald.

Knuckles went with his instinct and tried to follow the emeralds direction, while Rouge laughed.

???: Did it really have to come to that?

Rouge turned around to see Christien staring right at her, an angered look upon his face.

Rouge: H-He deserved it! Didn't you see how he made me cry and cry more on our date. How don't you understand.

Christien: Because I know when things can go to far, and at this point I see all you need is someone to talk to.

Rouge looked and him in disbelief, and anger, but as she slowly left the air to touch the ground, she fell forward for Christen to catch her.

Rouge: I'm sorry, I should have came to you instead of hide those feelings.

Christen wiped the tears off of her face, looked into her eyes, and smiled a little. Making Rouge blush. He brought her closer to him.

Christien: You have nothing to worry about anymore.

Christien kissed her softly, his lips pressed softly onto hers. Rouge didn't act surprised nor hesitated, instead she kissed back with passion. As they pulled back Christien found himself picking her up.

Christen: Come on, let's watch Knuckles try and find all the Emerald pieces.

Rouge nodded and they both say down an laughed watching Knuckles frantically try and find all the pieces.

Rouge looked over at Christien, and rested her head on his shoulder, he looked over and brushed her head softly.

Rouge: Thank you.

Christen: For what?

Rouge: Showing me what true love is.

Christien smiled and was about to respond before Knuckles hit his head on a tree, and fell to the ground. This made both of them laugh heavily.

Christien: I'm out of breath, we should get going soon before I die laughing.

Rouge: I agree.

Rouge grabbed Christien by the hips, then they flew upwards, and started heading back home.

Rouge looked at Christien, and smiled, remembering all the times they had done missions together, and laughed together, how they had so much fun together. She never thought she'd be here with him.

Rouge: I love you, my cold hearted Fox.
