Furqan's POV
One of Almas maids ran towards my direction in the unyi ogwu (war room) shouting and crying bitterly. The soldiers training on the field before the war room tried to stop her but she was too fast and determined to reach my location. I left the round table where I was discussing the war proceedings with minister of defense, State secretary, minister of foreign affairs, some solders and general Azeez.
"Leave her"! I said to the guards dragging with her at the front of the war room. She knelt shaking and weeping.
"Speak! What has happened!? I asked her as my thought wandered off to Almas!
"Onu- onuidu.., Ebule.. Ebule Al-... Almas is missing. She said weeping.
"What!? I stomped off rushing to her chambers as I heard Azeez giving soldiers instructions to began a search for Almas. My heart beat faster with every pace as I opened her chambers door, I stood staring at a sign on the wall of her chambers. It is an hippopotamus horn drew with a charcoal. I throw my fist at the wall grinding my teeth in anger.
"Hakeeem!!! You bastard!!! Coward! Why can't you face me like a man and leave Almas out of this!?
I roughly grabbed my sword, my Achè cloak and jumped on the horse. Azeez held the lasso strongly I dragged with him but his strong warrior fist gripped the lasso tightly.
"No! You must not go Onuidu! He said still dragging with me. I struggled with him and was getting impatient
"Take off your damn hands! I shouted angrily.
"Onuidu this is a trap!!! Azeez yelled back grinding his teeth in anger.
"What trap!? Almas is in danger! Only Allah knows what that butthole is doing to her! I just have to go Azeez.
"They must be well prepared for the war ahead of time by now and I'm suspecting they carried out this kidnap when they are fully ready. I'm sure they know we're not prepared at the moment. How can you go with no back up while there is war between the two kingdoms at the moment!??? Azeez said with all seriousness. I stared blankly at him. Azeez is right. This is was a trap.
"But Almas is in danger I said looking worried.
"If you go this way, you'll not survive it, think of your empire and people, think of Almas. You'll only witness her being taken by Hakeem and that might be your last moment. Azeez pleadingly said.
"So what is the plan? I jumped down from my horse proceeding to the war room as Azeez followed suit.

Hakeem's POV
I stood at the balcony of my chambers tapping my fingers on the railings impatiently waiting for that imbecile to show up. My eyes screened the palace corners but there was no sign of him. what was he up to? Has he suddenly lost the Onuidu title? I smirked nodding my head in approval.
Jaaachiii! Your loyal soldier Ebije is here! A female servant announced.
"Onu Oma'atai' na. Ebije said at the entrance of my chambers.
"Liya(come) I said folding my hands at my back stepping into my chambers. "Any news? I asked
"No information from Agahbah yet but the brotherhood has arrived and waiting in the meeting room.
"Ok. I said as we preceded to the venue.
The brothers were dressed in black cloak, the high officials presence were escorted with personal guards who waited at the front of the secret palace cave where the private meetings are held.
"Welcome my brothers. I said stepping on a high rocky stage seeking their attention.
"We hope you're aware we have no time for your petty games. Enegbani Ocheni, one of the top officials in charge of envoy missions spat with a brow raised.
"I'm fully aware. I warmly smiled and motion ebije to bring in almas.
Her face was covered with a black sack and hands tied to her back. My heart felt tight seeing her in that condition but this was the only way I could defeat Furqan.
"What is the meaning of this? Ocheni spoke again awestruck. The crowd began murmuring. I halt them with my hands.
"This is our bait, Gentlemen, Ebule Almas Ago'Ofe. I said as I slide-waving my hands to her direction.
The brothers began nodding their heads in approval to my plans
Furqan's POV
"This is our bait". Anger cursed through my veins as I fist my hands standing among the brothers in a disguise and the members hood garment did pretty good job in hiding my identity. The plan is to join the secret brotherhood
Azeez nodded me slightly with his shoulder to calm me down. I can't stand to see Almas in pain.
"Now what? I asked Azeez. He stretched his neck higher making eye contact with our disguised best soldiers. Each and everyone of them nodded as he made eye contact with them informing them to be ready to start attacking. Soon the cave was heated up in a fight, the elders were surrounded by their personal guards and some escaped from the cave.I punched any soldier guard that came my way as I aimed at reaching out to Almas.
"What took you so long '?! Hakeem devilishly said jumping down from the stage and attacking me
I threw a hard punch at his jaw screaming out of anger. Before he could recover, I blow him hard on the face rushing towards Almas who was tied down with a sack on her face.
"Not so fast! Hakeem yelled throwing a dagger at me which barely pass my shoulder and tear my skin as my tunic was soaked with blood.
"You bloody bastard! I cursed as I threw myself on Hakeem and gripped his neck straggling him. He managed to roll aside coughing hard and rubbing his neck.
"Take Ebule to safety I'll hold them back! Azeez yelled. I nodded rushed and carried her swiftly through the secret escape of the cave. I raced to where our horses were hidden in a nearby village with Almas looking so lifeless in my hands, I reached the horses and urged it to ride faster with Azeez and the rest of the soldiers following.
We got to Agabarh after two days ride with Almas condition dropping. I could barely feel her pulse.
"Call in the doctor now! I commanded the chamber maiden. I placed her on the bed and silently prayed nothing happens to her. She was so thin and dark circles formed under her eyes I could barely recognize her.
"Step aside your majesty, the doctor said examining her pulse. She quickly mixed up some concoction and pure into her mouth as she was still lifeless. Her forehead was matted in sweat.
"I'm afraid, her condition is not encouraging, we could only pray heavens heal her. The doctor said bowing. I stood confused holding Almas hand gently.
