** Flashback is 2027, Currently is 2029**

The phone buzzed in my pocket, I wipe off my hand off on my pants. Who was calling me in the middle of working on my car? I was in Wrench's garage, since he couldn't use it. It was a random number but I had to answer it because it could be a sign that someone was after me right now. But it wasn't, when I heard my name sweetly called by him I realized he hasn't spoke to me since-.
**Flashback**
"Reggie, remember to call me if you need anything." As we sat down together at the little diner across from wrench's new hideout. Wrench wanted to be called Reginald now, he left Dedsec a while back and wanted to move in with his now husband that lives in England. I don't mind, it's just that I know I'll miss him, since he's in the other side of the world now. It sucks because we can no longer hang out with each other, the way we used to. I'm going to have to wait at huge crowded airports, along with the boring long ride on an airplane, just so I could see him. That whole week I was consistently thinking about how different it's going to be without him in San Francisco. It's hard to say goodbye, especially with Reggie and he's always been very difficult to communicate with so he'll be in and out with me.
It's crazy how the technology of England is so advanced then back at home. But that doesn't mean he's going to keep in touch often. Flying drones are everywhere, self driving cars are completely different, and hacking is at a completely whole new level. I begin staring at those menacing autonomic cars. I do love technology, i'm not a fan of when the government almost has all access here in England. Destroys more than it does protects or any other stupid excuse that they give their people.
I glanced away from the cars to the dinner menu, to the pale blue sky and the restaurant building that sat beside us, I take in every bit of the scenery to savor this last moment. I didn't know what could happen after this, I won't know that much knowing him, I cared for him and I didn't want to leave.
The waiter came over to are table and took are orders. Wrench looked ghostly than normal and I placed the back of my hand on his head. He seemed to be anxious or something, very antsy.
"Are you okay?" I pulled away my hand and hesitated.
He nodded. "Bathroom."
"Then go? I you don't need approval from me?" I laughed.
He smiled "Yeah duh I didn't want to be rude."
I had a sudden feeling that something was going on with him. He wasn't speaking, he was quiet. I quickly checked my phone and Sitara texted me to tell Wrench goodbye and good luck for her. He comes back 5 minutes later, didn't look as pale anymore.
"Are you sure you good?"
" yeah I'm just great." He replied in a sarcastic tone.
I look at him strangely, "Do we need to discuss anything?"
"Kind of, but I think it's the wrong time."
I glanced up into his eyes, it appeared he didn't get much sleep the night before. "You didn't sleep well, didn't you?"
"No, I couldn't sleep. My brain hasn't shut up."
"Reggie you leave me with more questions than answers sometimes."

"Ah, ok." He takes a deep breath. "You know what, it's best if I tell you after."
" OK but don't think it's going to slip past me."
I heard a faint buzzing noise coming from behind, and I turned around and the drone started to scan me for my profile. Reggie quickly pulled out his phone to hack into the alarm so it didn't alert near by police.
The drone moseyed off and Reggie sighed and fake smiled. "It's fucking annoying here."
The waitress comes with the drinks and places them on the table. Reggie grabbed his drink and started sipping.
"You know Marcus." He began.
I raised my eyebrows. "Hm?"
"I rather be living in San Francisco, I don't know why I'm here." He said in confusion but continued to rant. "I don't know if this is the right path for me."
"How come? You met the guy of your dreams and I thought you were happy about it?"
"It's too early." He huffed.
"Two years talking with this guy is early?" Stating that felt odd. Strange. Like a puncture wound in my chest that got stabbed again, but never healed.
"I don't know Marcus, I don't know what to do." He's defeated.
It was silent for about a minute, I took a sip and began speaking. " I know it's hard but if you feel like you're not ready to move in yet because it's early, just let him know what's up man. I'm pretty sure he'd be accepting of it, it doesn't seem like it wouldn't. You could just travel back-and-forth until you're actually ready to stay in London."
The food comes out and we lost track of our conversation.
*********
Reggie burped and put everything on this plate after he was done and began. " I am also contemplating about another thing that is causing more confusion."
"Mmhm?" I try to be there for him the best as I can, but Reggie has always been like this when he's trying to communicate his emotions.
"Marcus, I hate to say this. I don't want to fuck up anything, I just need to tell you this before you go."
I nodded slowly and mentally prepared myself.
