As Aizawa found himself confronted by Onibaba, Aizawa assumed a defensive stance. The previous fight with Handtaker had partially exhausted him. Onibaba stood silently as she readied two daggers.
Onibaba: I will make your death quick and painless. You have earned that much.
Aizawa: I wouldn't assume the outcome just yet.
Aizawa then activated his Erasure Quirk to cancel out Onibaba's Quirk. Onibaba remained silent as she gripped her weapons. Without warning, Onibaba lunged at Aizawa and attacked him with her daggers. Though Aizawa was able to parry most of the strikes, Onibaba landed a few cuts on him.
Onibaba: Impressive. Even after your extensive fight with Handtaker, you still maintain your speed and agility. But it's only a matter of time until it wares down. And when it wares down, death shall strike.
Aizawa quickly realized that he was at a disadvantage. Every move he made against her was quickly countered by the assassin.
Onibaba: Your fighting style is unlike anything I've seen from a Pro Hero. It is almost a shame to end your life.
Aizawa: I don't plan on dying.
Onibaba: None of us ever do.
As Onibaba presses the attack on Aizawa, Aizawa finds himself on the defensive with little opportunity to strike back. All Aizawa could do at this moment was defend himself and survive for as long as he could. As the fight dragged on, Aizawa saw a small window of opportunity when Obibaba went for an overhead strike. As Obibaba went for an overhead strike, Aizawa wrapped his Combat Scarves around both her arms and yank Onibaba towards him. As Aizawa went for a clothesline, Onibaba was able to counter Aizawa by leaping over Onibaba and wraps his Combat Scarves around his neck. As Onibaba begins to strangle Aizawa with his own Combat Scarves, Aizawa was able to fight her off.
Onibaba: Most impressive. None of my other targets have lasted as long as you have. That is more admirable than you know.
Aizawa: All I want is the name of your client. Tell me who put the bounty on my head and you have my word that I'll go easy on you.
Onibaba: We both know that I am under no obligation to give you that information. In reality, it doesn't matter. You have bested the other assassins, indicating that you are skilled and are indeed a threat to my client and his interests.
As Onibaba said this, Aizawa attempts to deduce any possible suspects with both the means and the motivation about the bounty. As his attempt at deducing the identity of the one who put out the bounty went nowhere, Aizawa was confused at why someone would put a bounty on him instead of a more seasoned and public Pro Hero such as Endeavor or Mirko or even the Symbol of Peace All Might himself. Despite his many questions, Aizawa maintained his focus on Onibaba.
Aizawa: You're going to tell me what I need to know, one way or another.
Onibaba: Then show me.
As Onibaba prepared to attack once more, Aizawa surveyed the situation. He knew that at this rate, Aizawa would just tire himself out and would eventually be killed by Onibaba. Without warning, Onibaba attacked Aizawa. It was clear to Aizawa that Onibaba was simply playing with him. As the fight dragged on, Onibaba gained the upper hand and kicks Aizawa to the ground next to the lifeless body of Handtaker. As Aizawa slowly gets to his feet, he sees one of Handtaker's combat knives. As Onibaba moved on Aizawa, he grabs the knife and attacks her with it. During the scuffle, Aizawa manages to strike at Onibaba's mask, partially destroying it. Onibaba retaliates by kicking Aizawa away. As Aizawa regained his footing, he could see a black eye staring back on him from behind Onibaba's mask.
Onibaba: This has gone on long enough, Eraserhead. This game has run it's course. Now it is time for you to die.
Aizawa quickly realized that the tone of the fight has changed. Up until now, Onibaba was toying with him for reasons he doesn't yet understand. Now Onibaba was done playing games and was going for the kill. Aizawa clutched Handtaker's knife, ready to defend himself.
Aizawa: Last chance, Onibaba. Tell me what I need to know.
Onibaba: With skills like yours, you could've been the greatest assassin the world has ever known. You could unleash your wrath on your enemies like a wrathful god. You can take away their powers and see them cower before you, begging for mercy as you offer none in return. Instead, you seek to become unbecoming of a man like you.
Aizawa: I'm not in it for the glory and I'm certainly not in it for the thrills. I'm here because I want to help those in need. If some scum is so bothered by what I do that they go as far as to hire thugs and assassins to take me out, then I must be doing something right.
As Onibaba moved to attack Aizawa, he had a plan. He knew that at his current state, Aizawa would be unable to beat Onibaba. But he knew that she wouldn't stop chasing him. In a move that caught Onibaba off guard. Aizawa began running in the opposite direction, scaling up a nearby building. Not hesitating, Onibaba chased after him. In that moment, Aizawa had set his plan in motion as Onibaba began chasing after Aizawa with the intention of killing him and claiming the bounty on his head.
