Author's Note
Hi again! I won't pretend I've been doing stuff on here since that's obviously a lie... I'm sorry. I'm also sorry about my birthday thing I said I'd do... I don't even know what happened to that. Stuff has been happening. I got into the coolest school thing ever! (Engineering program, so I can take college classes in high school, how awesome is that?!) I acquired a significant other. I acquired new pets. One of them died. Another one is laying eggs so maybe baby birds, idk. My cat is very sick and will likely not make it much longer. :'( I'm sick and in bed so I'm working on this. All kinds of other stuff. So yeah, sorry. I might still be not updating after this one so I'm just giving you a heads up. As for my other book, I'll probably put it on hold and restart it with actually planning it beforehand. (I've figured out that that was my problem with this one - no planning whatsoever, just rolling with it. I'll probably continue that rolling for this book.) Anyway, I'd like to dedicate this chapter to @clem1111 because she told me that she's really enjoying my story and can't wait for it to update. I then promised her that I would very soon, so here I am. I'm sure there's a technical way to dedicate but I'm too lazy to figure it out.
Anywho, I'll be using @jojobrouwer and LavenderKnifePoint's ideas. They're awesome people so I highly suggest that you go check them out! ;) Thank you to all of you who commented, I really appreciate it :)

"Could you really?!" The king looked up in surprise. He had a smile on his face that he quickly replaced with a slight frown. "I mean, why would I want help from a mere peasant-" here he spit out the word peasant "-like you? I've been perfectly happy by myself all these years."
"Yes, but, Your Highness, sir, art is an important part of the culture of a region or tribe or area or whatnot. You can't just ban it! I can show you why it's so important to everyone." I went to the man who had brought my mom and me here. "Could I go back to my house please? I need to get some stuff." And with that, I turned abruptly around and walked out of the castle without a glance behind me.
I met my mom at the car. "So.. how'd it go?" she asked. She looked a little worried.
"It went fine. We're going back home. I need to research and draw some stuff." I opened the door and got into the car. My mom followed me after a little hesitation. The man who drove us got in soon after.
The ride back home couldn't have been any slower. The second we stopped in the driveway, I hopped out of the car and literally ran upstairs to the attic, where there's an extra computer in case I want to draw something from online. I locked the door so no one could bother me. I started researching what I wanted to find out with little success, but I had enough info to do what had to be done.
--several hours later--
I heard my mom's voice drift from behind the door. "...Alexis? Are you okay? You've been in there a long time..."
"Yeah I'm fine mom, I'm doing something, give me a little bit please," I replied quickly.
"Uh, okay, if you're sure... I brought some food up to you. I'll just set it out here.." I heard her footsteps fade away as she walked back downstairs. I could tell she was really worried and upset about this whole thing, but there wasn't anything I could do to help her besides finish this.
--several more hours later--
I sat back in my seat and wiped my graphite-y hand on my forehead. I looked at my final product and nodded in approval.
--the next day--
"What were you doing up there yesterday, Alexis?" I was sitting at the kitchen table eating my breakfast. I didn't get much sleep because I stayed up so late working on my thing that must not be named (ttmnbn). Yet.
"Oh, you know, just stuff to make art legal again. Nothing to worry about."
"Well too late, I'm worrying. Can you show me what you were doing?"
I sighed. "I guess I can." I put my fork down and went to go get my ttmnbn and brought it down in a folder. When I showed my mom and explained to her what it was and why I did it, she gasped. "Oh, Alexis, that's beautiful! I can't wait for you to show him! That'll certainly get the art back, I'm sure of it!"
