The Forbidden Talent (ON HOLD)

Chapter 1

I'm sitting in the most boring place ever - school. I would much rather be sitting at home reading or drawing or something than falling asleep to my monotone History professor. Wait - did I say drawing? Oops. I'm not supposed to even think about my secret talent. You see, art in any way is not allowed, which would be perfectly fine with me if I didn't have a natural talent and liking for art. You could say that I'm the oddball in the bunch. No one else on this little teeny tiny island has any background or anything that has something to do with art except me. I don't know what happened different with me than anyone else, but for whatever reason, I am quite good at drawing. Horses are my specialty. I have more horse drawings than anything else I have ever done in my life. I guess I just really love horses.

Anyway, I've been hiding my secret for 15 years. I'm tired of doing this. Coming home from school (I live really close to my college so I live at home), finishing my homework, and hiding in the attic or basement to work on my drawings. I love drawing, but I hate having to hide that I have a talent for it.

I've decided that I'm going to stop hiding like a coward and act like a woman and confront the king himself. I don't care what he'll do to me. Okay, that's a lie. I do care. But still, I don't want people to not be allowed to see something that can be so beautiful. I have no clue what I'll say or do, but there's only one way to find out I guess. Just do it and hope for the best.

I really hope my friends and family agree with me on this and that they will help me. If not, I'm still doing it, just not with any help.

This is probably a huge mistake, but what do I have to lose? A life of hiding that I don't want? I just really hope this works.

I hope you like the book so far! I know it's not much yet, but this is what I have so far. I'm a newbie at writing and uploading books on Wattpad so I don't know much, sorry. If you could give me any tips or anything to make my Wattpad life easier, that would be appreciated. Although, I have figured out how to write a chapter without uploading the previous one so I might take a huge break and update a ton of chapters at once so expect that. :) Don't laugh, I know, it's probably something that I should figure out immediately but oh well.
