Patch is a small island to the West of Vale. It's the location of Signal Academy, and the island where both Ruby and Yang were born and raised in. The island is safe enough for a family to live in their house, and for people to build a combat school but is also large enough to have areas infested with Grimm like its forest. Patch is relatively secluded and includes heavy forested areas. Many Grimm have appeared in the forests of Patch. Notable examples are a large amount of smaller Beowolves and a Giant Ursa.
The Xiao Long-Rose Family home is located in a forest on the island. The house is a two-story log cabin with what appears to be a sheet metal roof in dull red. The interior of the home features wooden walls and floorboards throughout the house. and right now down on the island of Patch, Summer,Qrow, Raven, Kieron, Taiyang are in a small get-together at the Xiao-Long/Rose Home

right now they where all out side on deck chairs relaxing in the sun and talking about old time and catching up and Summer smiled as she relax in the chair "oh it good to get some good time to relax"

"Come on. You totally could've dodged that. " Yang says as she offers a hand up,
Ruby quickly takes it and pulled her self up " Yang! I've already told you, I'm just not cut out for hand-to-hand. Why can't I just use my beautiful Crescent Rose?" she say as Ruby brings her hands to her cheeks while a little thought bubble of a chibi version of said scythe pops up next to her
Yang sighed " That's exactly why I wouldn't let you bring it. as i'm gonna be Spending more time at beacon and on martin island soon. I wanna make sure my little sis can hold her own while I'm gone and with my boy friend" Yang readies her stance, Ruby barely has time to block as the blonde lands the first punch with her left arm, forcing Ruby to block with her wrist, before taking a defensive stance and ducking under the second punch, and then sidestepping to Yang's right, away from the third.
Yang then turns around 180 degrees in order to finish her punch, forcing Ruby to awkwardly walk back with her arms outstretched to avoid it. She then ducks underneath Yang's left leg, as the latter uses it to spring herself up to perform an airborne high kick with her right leg. As the two ready their stances, Yang wastes no time as she immediately punches again, forcing Ruby to block it with her left forearm, and then with her right. Another sidestep is taken to avoid Yang's third right jab.
