The sweat beads on her forehead slid down the side of her face as Jiseol stopped for a moment, catching her breath. Today was training day, and to her luck, a hotter day than usual. She turned around, intending to look for the boys because they still haven't showed up even though they were supposed to arrive 10 minutes ago, only to be met by a familiar palace servant she has seen working around.
The servant had mentioned something about the Lees looking for her so of course she had to go, leaving her to worry for the lads due to the fact that she might not be there when they arrive.
Her worry for the boys got replaced with worry for what was about to happen when they arrived at a meeting room where she met eyes with all three boys and on top of that, the whole royal family. The queen didn't usually attend these things unless it was that important and serious.
Jiseol's heart naturally picked up it's pace, having no idea what to expect. As she made her way to sit on one of the chairs, she could practically feel her heart about to burst out of her chest.
"Eris," The king started. "You are our greatest assassin, no one does work like you; quick and clean. We have put complete trust in you and your team to protect Twilight from enemies. However," he sighed. "we would like you to fill us in about your supposed crescent moon meetups with a certain man from Aurora Kingdom. Is this true?"
Her mouth hung agape. How? How in the world did they find out? "I- uh- um-"
That was a more than enough answer to know it was indeed true. "Are the rest of your team aware?"
She glanced at them. In that second of meeting eyes with them, she saw sorrow in their eyes. Jiseol looked back at the king, "No, your majesty." This was her own problem and she certainly wasn't going to bring down her friends with her because of something she did.
"Eris, I hope you know how big of a mistake and risk you made. You, out of all people, should be grateful he isn't a spy. We will talk again another time about your consequences because for now, I will announce what we will do about this situation. This doesn't only go for Eris but for everyone." Jiseol could see the shock and disappointment in the king and queen's eyes. She couldn't even take a single glance at Princess Sewon, it would be too much for her to see the look of disbelief on her face knowing she caused it.
"We will soon start a project with Aurora to put up a wall to separate both kingdoms. Twilight will be stationing soldiers in the border to make sure this never happens again. Eris, if we find out you tried to see him again, we will officially strip you of your title and even more severe consequences will be made. Take this as a threat, Eris. Disappointed is an understatement of how we feel."
