"I didn't put mustard in my cupcakes!" I say triumphantly.
The other kids nodded and said, "Yeah, tastes like mustard..."
"Yez, yez, it does tazte like muztard," said the teacher. "Vell, iv Abigal didn't put muztard in her cupcakez, zen who did?"
Immediately, there was a chorus of "Not me" s coming from everyone's mouth.
Despite this, I knew exactly who it was. I instantly point at Brianna and Giggles. Right away, they look horrified and.... surprised?
Oh, no. No, no, NO! They're acting! I c ant believe it!
"What? Why us?" said Brianna, looking rally confused.
"What did we do?" said Giggles, with her usual giggle.
I am NOT putting up with this anymore. No way.
"I know that you did it, and so do you." I say angrily. "Brianna, you knew the cupcakes were bad. You even said so."
"What? Who, me?" says Brianna. "I don't know what you're talking about. I never said that."
"Yes you did." Ugh. This is not going to work. "Anyway, Phoebe, you haven't even touched yours," I say pointedly.
Giggles froze. Brianna gave her a glare that said, "Why didn't you eat it?"
Finally. This was proof. It had to-
"I didn't touch it because I'm allergic to eggs!" she cried. "I didn't want to upset you, so I took one!"
She was practically wailing. Oh, my goodness. The teacher won't fall for this.
"Phoebe, don't cry," said the teacher. He walks over to her, glared at me, and comforted her. You could see that she was suppressing a smile. And anybody who's not stupid would know that normal people don't giggle when they cry. But, the teacher fell for it all the same, and scolded me. Well, at least I didn't get detention.
Oh! Detention! I've got to go to that stupid 7th grade teachers classroom after school. Ugh. This has got to be the worst birthday I've ever had in my entire life.
