Dear Father
Yesterday my company attacked across the Czechslovkain frontier. We weren't told much beyond that we were a part of a general offensive. Some found the orders to attack the Czech odd but not me, it's only a matter of time before every communist son of a bitch tries to come west. Father, I am happy to tell you that we routed those bolshevik bastards, we sent them scurrying and hiding before our tanks. My panzer company was facing a unit of Czech armor with their T-72's which could be very deadly if you didnt keep your eyes open. I lost several friends to them as we came over the top of a hill to attack a small village. Battle wasn't what I thought it would be like; it was chaotic and world shattering. When Grandpa told me about fighting the Russians he never talked about the fear but atleast I know I made him proud today. I have 5 confirmed tank kills which makes me a tank ace first one in the company. Hans had wagered that he would be the first one to make an ace and that he would lead the spearhead all the way to Prague. Sadly I watched his tank explode when he got shot in the side by some tank lurking in the smoke. For my part I was not only able to kill several tanks but the captain said I even managed to kill a commander of an enemy battalion. I hope that you are staying safe in the home front and I want you and mother to know that we are doing everything we can to crush the reds and get home safe as soon as we can. At this rate it won't be long before we make it all the way to Moscow,
Love,
Jochim Bremer, Lieutenant____________________________________________________________
