Isla couldn't think.

She couldn't form a proper thought as he stood there, right in front of her.

He was so near her, so close that she could feel his breaths fanning her skin, the heat of his body leaving stains on hers. Taking a step back wouldn't matter. He'd follow.

''Isla?'' Leo frowned, his eyes snapping between the two. The last time he'd seen them, everything seemed to be fine. He had no idea what was befalling around them now, ''What's wrong?''

Her chest tightened. She couldn't tell him. Isla couldn't tell him just how much she wished to walk away. Draco had offered to help them. She couldn't rob them off that. She would never do that to them, not if there was a chance that he could make all of this go away.

She swallowed the pain of having to do this, realizing what it meant. She'd have to be here, in the same house Draco took everything he'd ever given her, away. He explained himself, indeed, but it still ached. She still felt like he betrayed her.

Still looking right at Draco. So much hurt radiated around them, ''Nothing.'' She said quietly, ''Nothing is wrong.''

Malfoy gritted his jaws at that, the muscle in them burning in rage at what he felt like he was putting her through.

''Well,'' Leo raised his brows, looking back at the massive Manor in front of them, ''What are we waiting for?''

Isla finally looked away from him, saving them both from drowning in all the things they wished to be.

Her steps closer to Leo were shaking, her knees weak and unsteady. Draco noticed, and the first reflex was to reach out for her, wrapping an arm around her waist to keep her steady, but that wasn't his to do anymore. He wasn't allowed to touch her. Instead, he walked ahead of them, showing them his house and where they could place their bags.

He gave Leo and Mila a room, letting Leo settle in before his girlfriend arrived. He was shocked about the color that shaded across Draco's manor, but Isla just shook her head, signaling for her friend not to mention it.

Draco took Isla through the upper floor, opening yet another guest room. She stepped inside, keeping her distance from him, ''I figured—'' He gritted his teeth as she saw the double bed in the middle of the room, ''I figured you'd want to sleep with Nott.''

Isla held a ghastly look, trying with everything she had not to break right there and then, ''I do.''

It felt like daggers ripping through his body as he shoved his hands down his pockets, staring at her spine facing him, ''Just silence the room, would you?'' Aiming to turn around, he gripped the doorpost, ''I don't want to hear you two—''

''You're a bloody idiot,'' Isla whispered, dropping her bag to the ground, both of them facing away from each other.

He knew he was. If he weren't, she'd be sleeping in his room, ''Clarke—''

''No,'' She snapped, turning around to see him. He did the same, ''You don't get to say things like that. You don't get to do that right now. You don't get to make me out as a bad person.''

His eyes pierced through hers, stepping close, ''I get to do whatever I want.'' He lowered his voice, ''Especially if you're planning on fucking my best friend underneath my own roof.''

''I don't have to be here,'' She fired back, balling her fists at her sides, ''I came here because I didn't know it was you. If I would've known—''

''If you would've known what?'' He cocked his head, rolling his neck at her way of speaking, ''That I want to help your little friends because I care for you? That I'm doing all of this because I am in—''
