One cold night Katsuki awoke in terror, his heart raced fast, and his breath hitched. He took the covers off him hoping it'd allow room for air.

He raised a hand and wiped the sweat off his forehead, he didn't know what to think. He'd fallen asleep peacefully only to wake up with fright.

Nightmares. It'd been a while since he'd gotten one of those. Katsuki sighed deeply, he didn't know why but there was feeling deep down inside of him.

A feeling he tried ignoring. He shook the thought of the nightmare away and decided to go back to sleep. He laid in his bed once again, this time hoping he didn't awake again.

He managed to fall asleep again, but unfortunately the nightmare kept repeating over and over again. Almost as a sign telling him things weren't going to be okay. He sincerely hoped he was wrong.

When the morning came Katsuki jolted out of bed, quickly got dressed and ran towards the treehouse. He was hoping he got there first, he and Shoto always did little competitions on who got there first.

Katsuki sat down on the grass and waited for the other, he waited and waited but unfortunately Shoto never appeared. The blonde hoped he was late, but when day eventually turned to night he knew Shoto wasn't going to come.

That bad feeling came again, it made the blonde worry. Before it got any later he went home, feeling defeated. On the way back home he kept thinking of the possibilities on why Shoto didn't come.

Maybe it was family issues, maybe he was hurt? Or maybe it was both.

Katsuki shook the thought away.

'He's okay.' He thought to himself. A deep sighed left his lips as he opened the door to his home, only to find his mother sitting on the couch watching the news.

His mom didn't turn to face him, instead she kept her attention on the news. That's when he heard it, his eyes went wide as he looked up at the screen.

"Unfortunately two hours ago the Todoroki family got into a bad car accident, none of them survived." The reporter said. "We give our condolences, may they rest in peace. It's such a tragedy."

"That's unfortunate," Katsuki heard his mother say. "His kids were so young, they didn't deserve that."

Katsuki didn't respond, he couldn't. His mouth felt dry, he could feel tears forming in his eyes but refused to let them fall.

He walked over to his room and shut the door, that's when he allowed his tears to fall. He couldn't believe it, Shoto was dead.

He was never coming back, now who would play with him? Who would help him with the treehouse? His friend was dead.

Katsuki wished it was a nightmare but it wasn't, he did the only thing a person could do when they lost someone, he curled up in his blankets and cried.
