12 years later

"Did you get everything on your list Bakugou?" Katsuki's friend asked, with a huge grin.

The blonde rolled his eyes. "I don't understand why I have to buy gifts for people, I don't even like them. Not to mention this whole secret santa thing is stupid."

Eijiro playfully rolled his eyes, of course Katsuki would say that. He didn't expect anything else from his friend.

"Also, who the hell shops during November for Christmas presents? Have you seen my mom's house? It's full of Christmas decorations, Thanksgiving is two weeks away."

"I think everyone decorates in November." Eijiro replied, "Maybe if you spent less time complaining about everything you'll get something done. Like the Christmas shopping."

Katsuki sighed deeply, "Maybe if you spent less time bossing me around I'd hate you less."

"You don't hate me."

"Wanna bet?"

"I say we start heading home, what do you think?" Eijiro asked, Katsuki nodded in agreement.

All he wanted was to go home, he didn't want to be out buying unnecessary things.

"Dammit, I forgot I had to pick up Mina from work. I'll see you later Bakugou, don't stay grumpy all day!"
Eijiro joked as he turned around and quickly started making his way towards his girlfriend's work.

So much for walking home together. Katsuki couldn't care less.

He watched the other go and also started making his way home. He walked there with heavy bags, along the way he was so tempted to just throw them away.

But it'd be a waste of money.

He got home a few minutes later and was greeted by his mother, whom he chose to ignore as always. He made his way to his room and set the bags down.

He then laid down on his bed, only to get up a few seconds later after remembering something.

The candles he had bought were still in the shopping bag, he walked over to them. Without wasting any time he lit them on fire, walked over to the mini altar he had in his room.

A soft sigh escaped his lips as he placed the candles near the photo in the frame, he'd ripped it out of the newspaper years ago.

"Happy birthday Shoto, if you were here I'd throw you a big party while shoving your head into a cake." A sad smile made its way onto the blonde's face.

As he started to sing a lonely sad happy birthday.

(note: in this story shoto's birthday is in november)
