Liars don't Escape

Chapter 14.

There was a knock at Celine's door. Celine opened the door. It was Laura. 

'Laura! Come in.' said Celine.

'Hmm...' Laura stepped in. There was a strange expression on Laura's face. Expression of doubt. Celine closed the door.

'What happened?' Celine asked. 'I mean, everything okay? You here?' 

'Where's Maria?' She asked coldly. The question pounded Celine's heart. She didn't know how to answer.

'Oh, she? Her relatives picked her up yesterday night.' She lied.

'She has been murdered. She's dead.' Laura said. There were chills in Celine's veins after hearing Laura's words. Maria wasn't a normal girl, why does Laura know? 

'How...' she paused. 'How did that happen? How do you know?' 

'Check the news online.' Laura replied.

Celine picked up her phone kept on the table. She opened her mobile and searched for the latest headlines. As she searched, many headlines and articles were talking about Maria's death. One of the headlines said The girl who murdered her father, murdered the only witness in the community.

As she read the headline, her heart raced. How did this all happen? She raised her eyeballs at Laura from the mobile.

'Do you believe the news?' she asked in a low tone.

'She was with you, yesterday. Did you send her with random people?' Laura asked. Celine didn't know what to answer. She was already scared because of the news. She was confused. It all happened after midnight. Maria isn't even a human. She was a monster. 

'Belief what you want, I don't want to explain. You should know what I can do and what I can't.' Celine replied.

'I was simply asking. Someone is trapping you, I do trust you.' Laura said calmly.

'Thanks, I don't know how can I explain all this. I mean I don't know what happened.' Celine said and frowned. 

'Be alert. I shall take my leave. I need to go to the office.' she said and opened the door. 'Be aware Celine, someone is planning against you.' she said and got out of the house. Celine closed the door. She sat back on the sofa, closed her eyes and sighed. She was somehow able to understand who was doing this and why. She was getting trapped and she has somehow fallen into it. She was thinking of a method to get out of this mess. Celine understood one thing, to deal with superiors, humanly methods aren't enough. She will have to make them taste their own medicine. If they can control her time and can enter into her past, present and future and can simultaneously change it, she should do the same. But the problem is, that she still doesn't know how to use her powers. 

Her phone rang. It was a call from Richard. Celine picked up the call.

'Hello.'

'Hey, I've got a witness.' Richard said.

'Witness? WHO?' Celine asked curiously.

'Do you want to meet him?' He asked. 'Come to my office, there's something else I want to talk about.'

'Do you know about the news?' Celine asked.

'Yeah.' he said and sighed.

'I have an idea to deal with all the mess.' she said.

'What idea?' he asked curiously.

'I'll come then.' she replied.

'Alright.'

Richard went back to his office. The waiter was still tied to the chair. He was bent on his legs. Richard walked to his chair, as he bypassed him, the waiter glared at him. He sat back on his chair.
