"again, you two?" bobbi sighed as she set her jacket on the hanger by the door.

clint groaned and threw the remote at you from his sofa. (there were two in the room and you each had designated spots when you watched tv. that's just how things worked in the barton household).

you switched off the tv, rubbing your forehead. it wasn't an unusual event for you and your dad to pass out on the sofas while watching some random show.

realisation hit you like a fucking bus and you threw the remote back at clint, hitting him right in the head.

"okay, ow!"

you nodded (discretely but also not at all discretely) over to your mom  standing in the doorway and clint scrambled up on the sofa, muttering an 'oh shit' as he went.

"bobbi!" clint clapped his hands, "how was your da-"

"save it-i already got a call from fury."

"ah-"

bobbi gestured for clint to be quiet then turned to you.

"don't get yourself killed, don't do anything stupid, and stay safe. don't be like your dad and be in and out of a&e every single day-"

"every single day-" clint snorted

"-that's all i ask." she smiled sweetly, which scared the shit out of you.

"deal." you were surprised, no doubt about that. it was weird for your mum to let you off so easily, but you weren't complaining.

"and lock the front door before you two go back to sleep." she added before disappearing upstairs.

"what's your secret." clint joked, also surprised.

"no idea..."

let's skip past the boring shit.

you'd been at shield almost a week now and done all the admin and really boring stuff.

you've had a couple training sessions but they haven't been very major whatsoever. just getting used to being there, more or less.

"hey, dumbass." you felt your hair get ruffled as you took off your hand wraps and shoved them in your locker.

"hey, bitchface." you turned to nat and she handed you a sheet of paper.

you looked down at it with uncertainty, "what's this?"

"your new timetable." nat dragged out each word as she folded your training gear, putting it in your bag for you.

it was always the little things she did for you. she'd always been aunt nat. what would you do without her.

one look at the timetable and you were frozen. "there has to be a mistake here..."
