𝐄𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐄𝐄𝐍. 𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐋𝐄 𝐁𝐈𝐑𝐃
Collision Course
MINAKO WANTED TO THROW UP or perhaps faint. Either or worked for her. But she was more aware of the eyes that watched her in the stands than the sick feeling in the bottom of her stomach. Hunched over with her hands on her knees and head lowered, Minako tried her best to catch her breath. Perhaps she was a masochist but she appreciated the pain, she liked the fact that she was being pushed against her limits and forced to adapt.
Her legs were close to shaking from the pressure she's placed on them and the fact that she's been on her skates for close to three hours wasn't helping. It was almost pathetic how her lungs wheezed after a few run-throughs for their programs, but she could only blame herself for not vigorously practicing like she once did. The bottom half of her body was almost numb from how much she fell and she's sure that by tonight she'll have terrible bruises that won't go well with her school uniform. It doesn't help that her legs are pale which meant the nasty purple suckers will be even more noticeable than usual.
Others probably would've run away from the constant and unexpected injuries and the indescribable mental blocks that come their way, but not Minako. It was almost sad to think that she's been conditioned to get used to such a life at an early age. But at the end of each competition when the sounds of the crowd were drowned out and the only thing she could hear is her heart beating in her ears, when the medal is placed over her neck, and the cameras go off, it makes it all worth it.
